Just change out turn signal switch. Passenger side bulbs(front and rear) light when the right turn signal should be flashing. However there is no flashing, clicking...Now, what should I consider at this point. Before I changed out the turn signal switch the problem was: the passenger side would occasionally light but would not flash I had to flash them manually. Also, the brake lights would not illuminate when the brakes were pressed. The brake lights work fine now.

Not afraid to do it myself.

there are two flashers your hazards and your turn signal flasher, make sure you replace the turning flasher. it is normally located under center of dash(behind ashtray radio) or on drivers side by parking brake. if that isnt working then check the ground wires on your lights sometimes if they arent grounded properly the signals wont flash.

if your fusebox is in the glovebox area then your turn flasher is on the left and the hazard flasher is on the right.

also check to see if you have any bulbs out in front and rear including heatlights and upper and rear brake lights

My turn signal flasher was located to the right of the ash tray, I looked around the column for HOURS and it wasn't there... I also have an 93 oldsmobile cutlass ciera, it drove me crazy because the manual wasn't correct.

Are both signal on at the same time. If they come on like they should but just don't blink it is more likely a bulb or a flasher, not the switch. The Turn signal switch is in the column. You have to remove the steering wheel and lower dash cover, but you don't have to remove or completely disassemble the column.

Make sure you replaced the turn signal flasher and not the hazard flasher. They look exactly the same. Turn on your hazards and listen for the click, that way you can determine that the other flasher is for the turn signals. The turn signal flasher is usually attached to the steering column near the brake pedal.

1997 olds cutless brake lights will not work. bulbs, fuse and switch are good

1989 olds cutlass supreme. None of the brake lights work. All other lights work. Fuses are good.

You probably have a bad brake light switch. This switch is located on the brake pedal arm or a bracket next to the arm. This switch activates the brake lights when the pedal is pushed. You can check this by turning on your turn signals or warning flasher if your light flash in the rear. Your bulbs are good so this will bring you back to the brake light switch.

Brake and turn signals not working

usually this indicates that the brake light switch or turn signal or flasher have failed.i would start by replacing the brake light switch located on the upper area of brake pedal and fix ya problem.

Have a 96 Olds Cutlass Supreme, brake lights will not work. We've replaced bulbs, fuses and brake light switch and still nothing. Help!

Try having someone push on brake pedal at the same time thay move the turn signal lever up and down slightly to see if your brake lights work this would tell me that you have a faulty turn signal switch because GM runs the brake lights thru the turn signal switch so they work if you are driving with your 4way flashers on.

92 olds cutlass supreme turn signal broken

Start by checking the fuses that's simple
than relay than bulbs
last you may have to remove the steering wheel and than replace the entire signal assembly those are pretty much all your options so start with 1 and work your way down the list

88 olds cutlass, no brake lights

Your brake light circuit runs thru your turnsignal switch if your hazard switch is on your column I have seen numerous inop brake lights caused by faulty turn signal switches.

Both turn signals light, but do not blink

under the dash on the driver side there is a round or square sliver box that should say turn signal or flasher on it in the fuse box.
