My radio in my 05' Honda pilot stopped working. The anti-theft light flashes but there is no display. I tried installing an aftermarket stereo to see if that would work but no power goes to that either. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Radio just stopped working as if someone cut the wires. It is not the theft system as I have had to enter the code several times from battery trouble a few months back. I checked the fuse and it is fine. There was a CD in the machine when it stopped working and it did eject when I pushed the ejuect button but it will not accept a CD now. I tried entering the security code even thought no lights come on just in case the display was bad but no go.

I have the same problem. We had our car worked on a few weeks ago and last week I was listening to the radio and it just shut off. I can eject Cd's and DVD's but cannot turn the radio on. There is nothing in the display and the clock is not working. All lights are on and the anti-theft light is blinking. What do I do?

  • kibbeeee Apr 02, 2009

Did you resolve the problem I have the exact same problem.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

It does but only IF the unit tries to turn on. There is a code you have to enter to reset the security feature. The security feature is simply when the power is cut to the radio like would happen if it were removed, you then have to enter the owners code to verify that you didn't steal it. The radio prompts you to enter the code. Mine does not do that. It will not even try to power up.

The same thing just happened to my Pilot 2004, NAVI RADIO CLOCK shut while I was driving. I thought this could only happen when you change the battery. The solution which is stated here is check fuse #9. It is not busted so that is not my case. This must be something else.

  • Anonymous Jun 15, 2013

I have the same issue. Light flashes on anti-theft although, there is no "code" displaying to enter the code. All fuses checked, even purchased the same stereo on e-bay....installed it and same problem! Mine also would eject a disc the first time but yet, no more. Calling Honda before I take it in. I'll letcha know ;).

  • Brian McCullough Jan 11, 2017

Jan 2017 - I had the same exact problem with my 2003 Pilot. I checked the radio fuse it was fine. I checked fuse #9 (passenger side floor compartment) for the cigarette lighter and it was blown. When I replaced it the radio worked again - good post folks - would not have thought of that on my own.

I also have this problem, I went to an auto parts store local to me and they suggested that I try to factory reset my radio because it has an anti-theft system sometimes it will lock you out so if you press numbers 1 and number 6 on the station dial and try to hit the power on button it will turn a code that you can invent intern go to your local dealer and get a another code which will unlock the hope that work

You can get a radio code here: https://radiocodevault.com/honda

I have the same issue except all the fuses are fine, even replaced #9 despite it not being blown, no cigarette lighter power either.

In my case the solution was a fuse on the passenger side inside fuse box. It is not listed as a fuse for the radio but it is none the less. If your cigarette lighter isn't working either its the fuse. On my 2004 it was fuse # 9 a 15A fuse.

Same thing happened to my Pilot 2004 a week ago. The power shut down on my Radio Clock and Navi. I checked my fuse #9 but it was not busted. Any other recommendations? Thanks.

  • Anonymous Dec 26, 2012

I did the fuse #9 / 20A in the underhood fuse box. I will check the #9, Passenger's side.

  • Anonymous Dec 27, 2012

I opened up the Pax side fuse and removed #9/15A. Replaced it and the navi radio clock is now working. Thanks for the info.

Just fixed our radio on our 2008 pilot that has been broken for years, thanks to this website, Honda said they would need to take apart the dash to fix our radio and it would cost several hundred dollars, so yes the #9 fuse is down by where the passenger feet are, you need to unclip the small cover and it does not say radio, but like merlinstorm said above our cigarette lighter wasn't working either. It worked and thank you so much!!

Same thin happened with my '07 Pilot yesterday. Radio stopped working, changed the 20 amp under the hood, still not working. Took advice from this web site and changed the 15 amp position # 9 on the passenger side fuse box and now radio works!!!!! Wife and kids were charging their phones yesterday in the car which must have caused this fuse to blow. Honda dealership told me it would be an $800 job..... not....Thanks Again!!!!

Hondas have a security device that goes to the radio power, look in your owner manual and it should tell you something like how to reset the radio anti heft or something. it is an anti theft for the radio!

Can anyone help me to unlock radio code on my HONDA crv2000 please

urn your ignition off to begin retrieving your radio code. Press and hold the "1" and "6" preset buttons on your radio. Turn your ignition on. Write down the code displayed on your radio. The display will flash with two numbers: one beginning with a "U" and one beginning with a "L." Write down both numbers (beginning with the "U" number), and then disregard the "U" and the "L." This number (eight digits) is your radio serial code. You'll need it to retrieve your radio anti-theft code. Contact Honda to retrieve your radio anti-theft code. You'll need your 17-digit VIN...Vehicle Identification Number, found beneath the driver's side of the windshield and your radio serial code. Honda's customer service number is (800) 999-1009. Provide the representative with the information to acquire your radio anti-theft code. You can also retrieve your radio anti-theft code online at https://radio-navicode.Honda.com/ then turn your ignition to "Acc" or "On" to power on your radio. Enter your radio anti-theft code using the preset buttons at the bottom of your radio. For example, if your anti-theft code is "55512," you would press the "5" button three times, then the "1" button, then the "2" button. This will unlock and reset your Honda radio.

you can try the above for your 2000..if you get two 4 numbers have someone write them down. then go to the web site above. you'll need the VIN too.
Unfortunately most of the time, owners of 2000 and older Honda vehicles need to physically remove the radio from the dashboard by using some automotive pry bar tools and locate the serial number sticker on the back of the unit.).

hope this helps a little

Reset anti theft code 2003 honda pilot

If you turn key on, with radio off, then hold preset buttons 1 and 6 in at the same time, then turn the radio on, it will show you the radio serial # going from the 1st 4 to the 2nd 4. A dealer can then give you the code. If you are the owner, You can also register with Honda online and find it there.

2007 honda pilot radio code

Typically to get the code you have to have the serial number of the unit and call a Honda dealership to get the code. Sometimes in years gone by, there was a credit card sized card that had a sticker with the serial number and code. Sometimes the sticker is even stuck on the owners manual or the inside of the glovebox.

It sound like you are going aftermarket so I would think that the code is not needed as the code was only for the factory radio itself, not the rest of the system (speakers, etc..) Call the radio installer and ask but I don't think you need the code.
