what do you consider a "lot" of oil? some use of oil is normal. 1 to 2 quarts between oil changes is normal for an older vehicle.

Mass Air Flow Sensor or the EGR Valve or Oxygen sensor. It honestly could be a lot of things so before you just start throwing money at it I would look to see what is going on. Your local auto parts store should read the code for free

See if your idle air control valve needs to be cleaned out. This is a common problem in cars that stall out a lot.

The noise you hear could very well be a lifter. But that is not what is causing your engine light to come on. The engine light problem can be diagnosed by having the codes read. You can have this done for free at most national parts chains such as Advance or Auto Zone. Good luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

There is a lot of things to check in order to find the issue. You can go to an AdvanceAutopars or AutoZone and they will put the scanner for free so you would get the code and find the problem. i woud say spark plugs,ignition coils,old wiring, etc. but it can be a electronic sensor on the intake. so. is a must to do a computer scan on it.

theres a few things that could make it shake so it depends where it is coming from. if its just coming from a corner (like left front or right rear) it could be a bent rim or a bad tire. if its just shaking it could be you need new shocks or struts or maybe even springs but i doubt that its not even 10 years old yet

I had a similar problem and had an engine tune up done and the car runs almost like new now. Mine is a 2001 Hyundai Accent too.
