96 Deville Overheating....TroubleShooting

Ok, I need help, im stumped. I have a 96 Cadillac Devillle 4.6L and I've been having problems with overheating. I've done alot of work within the last week and nothing seems to work, I've replaced the following:
Radiator
Water Pump
Water Pump Belt
Heater Core
Temperature Sensor
Thermostat
Radiator Cap

*Fans come on around 222 degrees. There's white smoke coming out of my expansion tank when I remove my radiator cap. Checked my oil, and there's no coolant in it. Also, my air conditioner doesn't blow through the vents, don't know if that would affect anything.

Please help, I'm going crazy.

I have a 1996 cadillac deville with the same problem it keeps overheating however my fans don't kick on at all....

96 deville sedan, the 4.7 liter. it has two fans behind the radiator and i have yet to see them turn on, the car will stall and overheat when the coolant temp reaches 200 F, but normal running temp is 197 F . so if i stop for a few minutes at a red light it overheats and stalls.

My fans are coming on. Tested off the car and on. Where is the temp sensor located?

We need help with an overheating problem on our 1999 Cadillac DeVille. We've replaced many parts and wonder if it may be air in the cooling system. Please help.

Could be.
Has the thermostat been replaced ?
You could run the engine without the radiator cap to see if the system has air pockets.
A restriction in the exhaust could cause the engine to run hotter on the road than on short trips.

96 cadillac deville overheating

Check for coolant flow at the Purge line, this is a common problem on the Northstar.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank, this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating. If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.

1992 Cadillac Deville Sedan

i have two codes on my 92 cadillac sadan deville that read e 12 and e 96. i understand what they both mean. e12 is 'no distributor signal', and the other e 96 is 'torque convertor is overstrewsed'. i know that the toruque convertor is a big project itself, so im goin to send that into the professionals. but i might be able to fix the distributor, if it is the cap, or a false ground wire which hopefully it is. there is about 170,000 mi, and have gone threw alot of parts that i installed myself, but im not goin to let her go yet she still got alot of miles to go. i just need help on checking out the distributor cap for replacement.
