I have a 1996 Audi A6 and when I turn on the directional the 4 ways flash so nobody knows which way I'm turning. I've replace the relay behind the hazard switch and the Illumination Switch under the hood but still didn't correct the problem, any suggestions would be appreciated.

SOURCE: I need to change the flasher relay on my 2000 A6

The hazard switch is hard to get out. It has one clip on each side. By using a flat screwdriver on one side, and conciderable force, the whole thing came sliding out.

It's behind the dash panel just below the steering column. There are two relays for the fuel pump back there. Chande them both out.

SOURCE: 1996 grand marquis I have

Based on a review of the exterior lighting system wiring diagram for your Grand Marquis it appears that fuse #1 15A in the instrument panel fuse block is for the brake lights, turn signals, and hazard flashers. Fuse #5 15A supplies these circuits in certain switch modes as well.

The directional lights on my TT stopped working this week. The lights will flash once and then stop. Anyone have a clue why this would happen?

The hazard switches on some Audi models includes a relay for the turn signals. This was true on my Allroad and A6, but I haven't needed to replace on my TT yet. Part is easy to replace, but about 50 to 75 dollars.

Car over heated and thermostat light keeps going on.

Step 1:

When the thermo..do not work, there is an easy way to know...let the car running for at least 10min..turn it off..touch upper and lower hoses...if any of them is hot and the other is cold...thermos..not working.

Step 2:

check if fans activate when it reaches normal temperature, if they dont, replace fan switch at the botton of radiator,or check if the fans are burned.

Step 3:

you can flush the radiator by the usual way,but it will not unclog any cell of radiator...you must send it for service... but before u do it..do the cheap and easy staff...by the way...that car operate with a different cooling system...thats a closed pressured...so changing the cap of the reservoir helps ...since it has some valves that goes broken when is not change...hope it helps...

Where's the thermostat on a 96 audi a6

  • On this vehicle the thermostat is behind the timing cover and you have to remove a cam gear to get to it. It is one heck of a job. Says to allow 2 1/2 hours in a mechanic shop. I suggest this one be done by someone that is mechanic savvy. This is not a job for an amateur.
  • I have uploaded a picture so you can visualize it's location as well.

Turn signals not working audi a6 2002

turn signal switch most likely. But it could have a faulty flasher relay. the signals and the hazards probably have seperate flasher relays and possibly on different circuits so check fuses as well

Hazard Lights working. Indicators will not operate/flash

The Hazard and turn signals share the same relay module located in the dashboard behind the hazard switch. Remove the trim by prying from the sides (Either side of the Cup holder drawer and Card drawer). Pry the hazard switch assembly out from the dashboard. The relay is part of the hazard switch assembly.

Unclip the wiring terminal from the relay. replace with appropriate relay. Part costs under $50.00 delivered from Import Parts Specialists.
