2005 Honda CRV dome light goes out, but not burned out

Remove the cover and replace the bulb. A much better description can be found in the Chilton manuals. You can get LED replacements that should last longer then the vehicle.

It's not complicated !
when you turn on the overhead light with one or either switch you see 2 lights. BUT there's another bulb between them that is the one that comes on with a door opening. Remove cover and replace the burned out middle bulb.

use a very thin bladed flathead screwdriver around each edge, gently prying until it pops free. it will snap right back in place when you're done.

Pry it open with a screw driver carefully. they just snap in

The Honda Pilot is a mid-d sport utility vehicle introduced in 2003. The 2005 modelcame in three different types: the LX, EX and EX-L. In the center of theinterior roof is a dome light, or map light. All you need is a screwdriver to complete the job. Once removed, you can add new electronics to the Pilot'sroof.

1. Turn off the dome light and the car's engine. 2. Insert a flat headscrewdriver into the edge of the map light plastic cover. 3. Pry the cover off until itpops out of place. 4. Locate the two screws on theinside of the light mount and remove them with the screwdriver. 5. Remove the plastic domelight fixture to access the connector attached to the bulb. 6. Detach the connector fromthe dome light bulb. The dome light fixture can now be removed.

LOOK FOR BRAKE LIGHT FUSE OR BURNED OUT BULBS BAD BULB SOCKETS OR GROUNDING PROBLEM.

Look on the sides of the dome light and look for a tiny little notch in the plastic. Take a screwdriver and gently pry at the notch and it should just pop out

This is a real pain, took me forever to find mine... there is a little TINY slot that you can fit a VERY small flat head screwdriver in to pop it off.

Dont worry, the plastic is durable, just try to use a precision screwdriver if you have one and basically pry it open. it really will just Pop off once you get in there

Filament gets fractured, possibly by vibration of the roof lining. I have replaced mine 4 times and while the bulb looks OK it is high resistance, buy a few bulbs and replace them when it occurs.
