SOURCE: locked steering wheel

Sounds like the rack is broken inside steering column. This happened to me while getting tires replaced at pep-boys. Try moving the tilt wheel up and down while turning key.

SOURCE: Key won't turn steering wheel not locked.

common for this key switch to be defective. Might try graphite lubricant to spray in the hole. Once you replace key switch it will have to be recoded (electronically)by a lock smith, repair shop or dealer.

My steering wheel won't lock so I can take key out

What kind of vehicle is it? Year, make, model, etc.? If it's an automatic transmission, make sure the shift lever is pushed all the way up into the park position. It would be the same if the lever is on the column or the console area. Try jiggling the lever as you try to remove the key.
Also, some steering wheels have to be turned back and forth a little, to engage the locking pin.

My car locked steering wheel and can't turn the key, can you please help me

Hi Dev:
First, let's confirm that you are using the correct key.
Next, the key won't turn unless the transmission is in Neutral, or Park.
If the wheels were under tension, maybe turned against a curb, when the vehicle was stopped, there may be pressure against the steering lock mechanism, and that may be stopping the ignition from turning.
Try turning the steering wheel to releive the presssure and see if you can jiggle the shift lever. That should release the ignition.
Hope this helps.

Whn I try to start my 2003 MC Sonoma, the key won't turn in the ignition, the steering wheel won't turnlockedand unable to move the shift lever out of park?

Sounds as if the ignition cylinder has an internal problem. You may have a sticky wafer inside the cylinder. You can try using some WD 40 and inserting the straw inside the cylinder and giving it a good spray. You can also try gently rocking the steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. With out the ignition cylinder turning, the gearshift will not come out of park nor will the steering wheel come unlocked. Hop this helps
