Hi there.

The procedure is roughly the same for all mk3 x types.
You need to remove all the screws on the armrest and on the ashtray, then undo all the plastic clips using screwdrivers on the panel.

You find detailed instructions on links below, I quote:

" remove two screws at the bottom of the armrest.
pull out ash tray.
remove screw in the middle of the ash tray holder.
pull up on armrest, it should pop up, then pull it out
start at bottom right of door and start popping out the plastic clips (all the way around the door)
(remove speaker wires)
push up door panel - done"

There is no advice on how to remove the panel (trim) directly below the arm rest, this panel needs to be removed to obtain access to the 2 screws holding the arm rest in position at the bottom

Drivers side will not open from either side

There is a small spring in the locking/closing mechanism that is prone to break off. It is very difficult to get the door open once this happens, if you work with it enough you may get the door open so you can remove the interior door panel and replace it. It's just as easy to go to a salvage yard and purchase the entire lock assembly as trying to replace the spring. I had to cut a hole in the inner door to gain access but the door panel when replaced, covers it. This may be something you want a dealer or shop to do for you.

Passat door 2006vw will not open from outside, but opens from inside

You need to get inside the door and reattach or replace the interior latch assembly that connects the handle to the latch release. This sounds like a lot of work but it really isn't and should take about 30 minutes to get the interior door panel off, repair the problem and get everything back together. The the door panel for any screws that maybe hidden under plastic caps and remove them. These are normally a #2 or #3 cross tip. Once those are removed use a flat screwdriver at the base of the door and pry up on the interior panel to separate the panel from the door, do this carefully and as you locate the push pins that hold the panel in place move the screwdriver close to the pin to do most of the prying. The closer you are to the pin the less damage is likely to happen to the door. These should pop out but are sometimes difficult. Once you have removed them the panel should lift off and you can access the latch mechanism and make repairs.

The drivers front door will not open from the inside. The interior door handle won't activate the mechanism to open the door. Yet, the exterior door handle will open the door. Please advise! Thank you!

It could be the latch, but look to see if the interior door handle rod is still connected to the latch assembly. You will need to remove the interior door panel.

How do I remove the drivers window controls on a 2004 Mercedes Benz C240

Hi,

If you cannot see any bevelled edges to remove the master switch control, my suggestion would be the most common.... to remove all visible screws securing the interior panel to the door frame, e.g. behind door release handle, behind inside grip hande (as circled in photo), then slide & lift the interior door panel away slightly as one assembly, just enough to reveal any electrical wires.

Disconnect all wire looms from behind interior door panel...

Then, view switch assembly from behind the door panel, to determine best method to remove. Most modern switch assemblies are simply held in place by molded clips on the switch body, which need to be pushed out from behind.

The interior door handle on the driver's side of my 2000 Tundra does not open the door. The exterior door handle works fine. I would assume the cable has broken on the door latch portion. What is the...

remove the screws that fasten the interior door panel to the door.  Visually inspect the handle assembly. there will be two cables that connect the handle and lock button to the door lock assembly.  I would bet that the L-shaped end of the interior door handle cable broke.  The replacement is self explanatory for the handle. Google the door lock assembly which isn't as visable.  Bob
