Headlight change I need help changing the headlight in my 98 ford escort lx

Instructions

1. Make sure the the headlight switch is in the off position.
   
2. Open the bonnet to the Escort.
   
3. Locate the back side of the headlight assembly to the headlight that needs to be changed (driver's side or passenger side) from inside the front the engine compartment.
4. Unplug the wires from the back of the bulb.
5. Turn the back of the bulb housing counterclockwise one-third of a turn until the bulb and wire harness are released from the headlight assembly.
6. Unplug the wire harness from the bulb socket.
7. If using Halogen headlight replacement and be careful not to touch the glass bulb part. Handle it by the socket at the bottom of the headlight.
8. Plug the wire harness into the new headlight replacement.
9. Align the tabs on the headlight housing to the slots in the headlight assembly and insert the bulb into the assembly. Twist the headlight one-third of a turn clockwise until it locks into place.

Headlight switch? Headlights don't use the fuse panels. Is there a delayed off for the headlights? If so, this module might be defective.

Check relays and wiring for current to them.

Why are you needing to remove the headlight lens? Are you needing to replace the bulbs? In any case, the headlight lens do not come off. Let me know what you are needing to do. Thanks

This is not a US model so have no info here. That said I would think the motors are the problem.

Under the hood - follow the wires to the back of the headlight assembly. Separate the connector and remove the lock ring around it. Coax the bulb out - it is held in with a rubber ring. Note the position - the new bulb will only go in in the same position. Replace the lock ring and the wire connector.

Two words....DUCT TAPE. Cheapest way to fix anything!

did you check your fuese under the hood al so check were your light plug in you may have a broken wire

yes the ring does come off,some grippin to big enough so you dont strip it will work

disconnect the bonnet switch under the hood behind the right headlight .should stop the alarm.let me know how you get on with this.will the doors open manually with key in door.or they wont open with remote as you did not specify
