My dash lights didnt work .tryed everthing nothing worked then i changed the bcm to one out of another truck now i have dash lights but the truck wont start! i can put my old bcm back in and it will start and run bt no dash lights again! whats wrong with my bcm?and can the other bcm that works the dash lights be programed to start my truck?
Did you get the part new or salvaged, if salvaged make sure the numbers and letters are the same on the part you swapped

Possible weak battery has got the security system where it want respond or in some models want let the vehicle start until a new battery is installed and you use the keyless remote to active the securtiy mode a time or two possilbe then the vehicle will operate properly ..no question it is something electronic and this might be a possilbe solution check the battery to see if is still good,

You will have to have the dealer reset the security light to restart vehicle.Check all engine and chassie grounds because this is where the lighting would exit the vehicle.It sounds like a ground burnt through.

I have the same problem, not sure, but I think it is related to my headlight switch. My windshield leaks and the switch has water damage. Check at your trailer light harness to see if you have power there, it runs off a separate circuit/fuse.

thats a issue for a pro cause dealers dont have olschoolers with the knowledge-they just want to sell new cars--independent shops must reprogram the computer using a landline only cause a wireless connect doesnt download the complete data--send delemma to [email protected] for more advice
