relay, distributor, spark plugs + wires, when key is turned to on, fuel
pump does engage, battery tests at 12v(it is old?), air filter is new, it has a spark, battery tests good,
what else could i try? When car is turned on, green light in dash stays on, does not flicker, flickers when key is removed.
my car turns over just fine but it will not stay on once I left go of my key after starting it. I have replaced the alternator, fuel pump, spark plugs and distributor? Can it be the ignition?my car turns over just fine but it will not stay on once I left go of my key after starting it. I have replaced the alternator, fuel pump, spark plugs and distributor? Had the battery replaced by a Honda dealership February 2014. Since then when I turn the ignition there is a delay in the start up. I have the Accord at the dealership now and was told that the new battery is fine, the alternator and connections are good, and they cannot duplicate the problem. Any idea as to what the issue is?Had the battery replaced by a Honda dealership February 2014. Since then when I turn the ignition there is a delay in the start up. Either have a shop scan it for trouble codes or buy a scanner your self at local parts store have OBDII scanner and find out for your self it could be a number of things.

sounds like u have a neutral safety switch issue its located on the brake pedal try un plugging it and take a bread tie and jump the two wires across then try to start it if that dont do it try the crank position sensor it sounds like a fire problem
If the engine cranks over but wont start, the Hondas in that year range have a pretty good size relay under the drivers side of the dash, its about 1 1/2" by 2 1/2'
you can replace it or just take the cover off and if you look at the solder contacts very closely you will see one or two that have a crack around them.
just put a couple of drops of solder on them to fix the bad connection and you will be on your way. literally takes about 10 minutes start to finish
Cylinder #2 is the the second spark plug counting from the right to left.
EX.Below are spark plug on engine

Your misfire can be cause by couple of things but the cheapest way that you can try to fix your car is to do a tune up by replacing:
1)all spark plugs
2)do a oil change
3)spark plug wires
3)distributor cap and rotor
note misfire can be cause by:
1.bad gas
2.spark plug and/or wire
3.distributor cap and/or rotor
4.valve adjustment
5.injector
6.off timing
7.ECM
8.bad wiring(power, ground or feed line)
from experience ive replaced loads of distributor assemblies as the wiring goes bad inside. check for a spark when the vehicle wont start and if theres no spark id change the distributor..
hope this helps
Check to see if you have spark to your spark plugs. On hondas if you have no spark it wont let the fuel pump get power. This is controlled by a small part in the distributor called the ignitor by honda and ignition module in aftermarket terms. when this part goes bad you wont have spark or fuel. it is a pretty expensive part. sometimes its cheaper to get a used distributor at the junk yard and change the whole thing. also make sure your timing belt hasnt snapped cause if it did your distributor wont turn and you will get the same results. take the distributor cap off and check and see if the rotor spins while someone is cranking the engine. if it doesnt turn your timing belt is broke or your camshaft broke in half. broken camshafts are a common problem with 95 accords. If none of this helps you may have a wiring problem or even your cars computer may have taken a dump
Spark without fuel = just spark. :) Are you getting fuel movement? You could have a bad/clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump - could be a few things. Check to make sure you're getting fuel.
turn ignition key on to the run posistion engine light should come on then go out within 5 seconds. if it doesn't the main relay for the computer or the computer itself are .bad
