MINI: Trying to eject non-existent CD

After ejecting a CD a week ago, the CD player will no longer accept CDs at all. When I enter the car, I hear the motor in the stereo trying to push out a CD, but there isn't one loaded. When I try to insert a disc, it will not pull the disc in. The screen says "CD ERROR".

    Yes, same problem, just bought car, it had a CD in it when we tested it out on road. After ejecting the disc which was a home made burned disc, it would not take another CD, same things you noticed, can hear it but no go. We also have a 2005

I have only seen this problem once and the only fix was to replace the cd player. I would suggest to get an aftermarket cd player from electronics store and have them install it. The factory option is over 700 installed. sorry

Hi,

this could be a compatibility issue with some or all of the parts in your jvc player. I would first call jvc and Toyota to determine whether the player is compatible with the model of the car that you have. I suspect that this is the main issue as your other cd player works fine within the corolla and the jvc player works fine with the xterra.

Cds are stuck in the default cd player of 2001 Dodge Intrepid. How do I get them out?
The first step is turning the car off. Then before turning the key back on, push and hold the Eject button then turn the ignition on. If the CD fails to eject then you can use a old CD and try to insert it into the CD Player, just as it try's to take your second CD pull it out and hit the Eject button again. This will usually get a Dodge CD player to Eject.
If this fails then the CD player must be removed and a manual eject can be performed.

CD stuck in Car CD player
I just fixed this in my x-terra. I had to buy a new stereo because the rubber roller that grabs the cd was worn or something. I even took the whole thing apart and cleaned everything. This was the only fix.

Toyota dashboard CD player won't eject
I had this say problem with my 2000 solara. Here is the fix, remove one of the car battery terminals for a couple of mins (3-4mins). The reattach the battery terminal back. This would make your cd player and car clock reset. once you start your car you should be able to eject the cds. You'll just need to reprogram all your preset radio station. Hope it helps
