When your driving or when in park?

If it wont go over in park this is normal. It is the rev limiter kicking in so that the engine will not self destruct.

SOURCE: 2006 Chrysler Pacifica Auotmatic Liftgate

Yes new gas shocks on the lift gate will fix your problem. I had the same problem on my 2005 Pacifica and when it hit my head- I came up with the solution.

Good Luck,

SOURCE: 2006 chrysler pacifica accelerator pedal sticking

carbon buildup in the throtle body is most likely the problem you need to remove the air cleaner and buy some card cleaner. there ia a butterfly valve in the throat of the assembly that will have a carbon ring built up around it use the carb cleaner and a tooth brush to remove it this happened to my pacifica I could not believe it was something so simple I went through lubricating all the cables before I found the real problem

Testimonial: "I replaced the air filter and cleaned the butterfly valve and seat.It seems to be working just fine.Time will tell if the fix is permanent.THANKS!!!!"

SOURCE: What does perform service mean

No need to worry. It means it is time for Oil change, filters, coolant change. The "message" is just a reminder that it is time to have a scheduled maintenance done. What needs to be done is determined by the vehicle mileage and is set out in your owners manual.

Acceleration won't go past 3000 PRM at idle

The car does have a maf, but it is rarely the cause of rough idle. Rough idle is usually caused by vacuum leak, pvc issues, or idle air control valve. What does it do, specifically, and is the engine light on?

My 2006 Chrysler pacifica will start running rough and won't accelerate after driving slow or sitting at a stop light but it only does it some times. You can turn it off and let it set for a few s

The problem exists because codes are only an
indication of a system fault

You use the codes to compnent test & only replace
a part if found to be bad

I have a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica that hestates upon take off if it reaches 3000 RPMs. I have to slowly drive till I get enough speed without reach 3,000 RPM so that it won't thump multiple times. M

Personal experience says you have a wiring harness that is grounding out and causing the codes...This is especially true if you have had the typical motor mount issues that are common on the Pacifica...Check the wiring harness behind the drivers side wheel...

Remove the front left wheel (drivers side)
-Remove the wheel well shield (just the front is all that is necessary...fold it back)

-Verify the vehicle ground is still intact (when the motor mount gives there is not enough slack in the ground wire and the wire will pull out of the grounding lug)

-Inspect the wiring harness that is around the transmission that goes to the PCM (when the motor mounts give they can crush and then rest on the harness and wear through the casing and then affect the individual wires...throwing codes...)

2006 pacifica stalled out while driving. Now it won't even try to start. Check engine light came on.

A good read. That car is only 6 years old... I would say bye bye to Chrysler forever.

I have a 2006 chrysler pacifica. The engine light is on. It has gone off after i have put in super high test gas. Gas mileage is poor. When I try to rev it up in park it won't go over about 3000rpm. ...

My thoughts on your problem. First when you rev it up in park it shouldn't go over 3000 rpm the computer wont let it. Did you have the check engine light read to see what the code is? when you say the gas mileage is poor are you comparing it to what it once was? As far as the miss goes is it a constant miss or a random miss? if you could answer these questions I should be able to help you further

HI,I HAVE A CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2006 3.5L W SYNTHETIC OIL ,EVERY HOW MANY MILES NEED TO BE CHANGED?

Everyone say's 3000 miles. I was a technician for 16 years, I own three cars. One with 194000, one with 140000 and one with 107000 miles on it. I change my oil every 4000 to 5000 miles. From my experience most engine problems are from a lack of oil, not from a lack of oil changes. Remember to always keep an eye on your oil level.
