At 68000 miles only ,yellow light came on and the sign to check transmission appearred. Doesnt shift from 3rd to 4th an fifth. first ,second and third is ok. Dealer had made diagnostic told me I need new transmission. Supposedly overdrive servo bore is worn. Codes PO734,

PO735, PO745, PO795.Does anybody has or had the same problem?

Do anybody has any suggestion how this can be solved more cheaply?

I don't even know if I can trust ford dealer.

i have the same problem with my 2002 ls it shows d5 then at about 40 mph it goes to e and i took it in and the dealer ran a tranny cleanout and i have to get a new one...problem with that is it costs about 2500 for a used one. but its the only solution...and its not from the overdrive its from frequent reverse to drive shifts...if you feel it its drops hard coming from reverse to drvie but that is just a normal problem with the ls i guess....mine lasted til 92000 miles before it did it.

    2001 LS 78K - no 4th or 5th gear - OBD codes PO734, PO735, PO745, PO795
In my case, this turned out to be a broken spring in the tranny body (found clues in other forums).
Over the net, I bought Sonnax part# 56947J-S1 and downloaded installation instructions from Sonnax website. Took both to a local shop and had installed (with fluid/filter replacement) for just under $450. Fixed the problem completely, for WAY less than the $3500 I was quoted for the "necessary" rebuild.

What does the transmission light look like on the dash for a 2002 lincoln ls

The only transmiision light that will show up on your dash would be where you see the different gears you are such as PRNDL. If you are ahving transmission problems or at least your computer believe it is where the gears show an "E" will show up there instead of what gear you are in. Below I took some snapshots of all the dash warning lights with desciptions of there meaning for you. I hope this helps and good luck.

2002 acura cl shifts hard into 3rd gear engine and tcs lights on

The Transmission is likely shot. That year along with others had transmission defects. My new 2002 TLs died at 21k miles. I go to Acura for most all service and they gave me a $1500 discount on a tranny. It still cost me $3500.
