Hi, my 1997 jeep Grand Cherokee will start and it will drive for about 15 min then it just shuts off. No gas flow you can press the gas all the way down and nothing. Wait about 2-5 min and it will start it will drive and and sometimes backfire after a backfire its good to go. It feels as if its running out of gas. What could it be i've already had in 4 different shops and nothing. It has many new parts.

our 1997 jeep cherokee has a similar problem, starts, runs, dies. Hard to start again unless we pump the accelerator. Loosening the gas cap had no effect.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee I started it with no problem and drove about two kms from my home to a red light when I came to a complete stop it just shut off. I tried to start it again but had to give it gas when i put on the break to put it in drive it just shut off again as if I was not getting enough gas. So I started and shifted it into gear with my foot on gas and break and drove it fine for a few days. A few days later it happend again. I am not A mechanic so I changed the only thing I knew how and that was the altinator and by some stroke of luck that was my problem. I hope this realates to your problem and is of some help.

Have your power train control module (PCM) checked out by a dealership it controls your fuel injection system, emissions, timing. this part troubles many jeeps. and it is real hard to pin point out what the main problem is. i replaced a lot of parts on my jeep then i replaced the pcm and mine has ran great so far. (fingers crossed)

We have a 1994 grand Cherokee Jeep and it will shut off when you are driving. If we wait 15 or 20 min then start it again it will crank, What could be the problem.

Without the benefit of testing, the two most common causes are either the crank position sensor has failed or the fuel pump is failing. If you can't hear the pump humming in the tank when you first turn the key to run after the engine has stalled, good bet is the pump is bad.

My 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is starting to have a ''slight'' hesitation after I shut it off and re-start it again. WHen I accelerate at first it hesitates a bit. I let off the gas for a few seconds...

A slight hesitation after engine shut off due to engine running rich meaning not meeting golden air:gas ratio of 14.6:1 so fuel residue in chamber continue to burn for the last moment. The same rich fuel problem that was why you had to let gas off during acceleration. Need to Check out the O2 sensor Check out MAP sensor Good luck

1999 Jeep cherokee will start i can drive for about 20 min

Replace, or have the fuel filter replaced. Replace the air filter as well. If it still does it, have the fusable link(s) checked, as if the connection(s) is not secure, it will cause the vehicle to start sometimes, or die while driving. Also have a diagnostics done at your local mechanic, or a local automotive store (usually a free service; stores may vary)
