Replaced bad distributor ran great for months and is misfiring with multiple cylinder misfiring message. Removed distributor checks ok still misfiring under load.

hi there, if you can feel the misfire at an idle but not at a higher rpm than the fuel pressure regulator is bad im working on one right now that has mifire code and random misfire codes coming up

ignition mod. grounds, pcm or timing belt could all be it but, I would have to look at timing first.

Sounds to me like fuel delivery issue. If i am correct this engine has the injector unit inside the intake manifold. When the engine needs the extra fuel for accel or loads it just isnt there. You are going to have to do a fuel drop test to determie if the correct amount of fuel is being released for the amount of time the injector is open.

if you have done the basics of replacing plugs and wires,
what I found on a dodge that was doing the same thing,
I could watch the misfires happening on the scanner but the engine wasn't missing, turned out to be dirt and things floating in the fuel rail and partially plugging the screens on the injectors.
