Take a auto scanner to have a check, if you get some codes, that means there have some problems on your car.

The CPU has found sensors that are out of parameters and has turn on the light to let you know something is faulty. Have the fault codes read and replace the sensor found to be faulty.

Reduced engine power

Have the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ! Do you know what electronic throttle control is ? The gas pedal assembly has electrical connector an sensors inside ,hooked to the PCM / ECM - engine computer . The engine computer uses these position sensors inputs to control the DC motor on the throttle body to open the throttle plate to control the speed . Plus there are position sensors inside the throttle body to input PCM/ECM to see if it's calculations are corect . Your best bet maybe to take it to a qualified repair shop .

Reduced Engine Power Mode
When the PCM detects a condition with the TAC system, the PCM may enter a reduced engine power mode. Reduced engine power may cause one or more of the following conditions:
• Acceleration limiting--The control module will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the vehicle acceleration is limited.
• Limited throttle mode--The control module will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the maximum throttle opening is limited.
• Throttle default mode--The control module will turn off the throttle actuator motor and the throttle will return to the spring loaded default position.
• Forced idle mode--The control module will perform the following actions:
- Limit engine speed to idle by positioning throttle position, or by controlling fuel and spark if throttle is turned off.
- Ignore accelerator pedal input.
• Engine shutdown mode--The control module will disable fuel and de-energize the throttle actuator.

Tcs warning light

If a misfire is bad enough the cpu will shut off traction control causing the light to come on. For the engine light to be flashing you need a heavy miss and shouldn't drive it due to potential Cat failure. Changing the coil can fix all issues if that's the only part causing a misfire, typically i would recommend changing the spark plugs while you are in there.

Meaning of warning lights

Manufacturers spend billions of dollars a year refining their cars' on-board diagnostics systems. However, all of the sophisticated diagnostics in the world will do little good if you don't know what the warning lights mean.
Purpose
Modern automobiles have dozens of sensors to monitor engine, braking and chassis performance. Any deviation from the car's established limits will trigger a dashboard warning light.

Check Engine Light
Check engine lights can indicate failure of the emissions system, fuel injection system, faulty sensor feedback, overheating or lack of voltage, transmission failure, and engine knock ignition system failure.

Brake Lights
Almost all cars have two separate lights for the braking system: a red "ABS" (anti-lock braking system) light and "Brake Warning" light. The former indicates failure of the electronic anti-lock system, the latter a loss of fluid pressure in the brake system itself.

Dynamic Warnings
Many modern cars have traction or stability control systems that prevent and notify the driver of tire slippage. These lights can come in the form of amber "SLIP," "TC," or "TRACTION" lights (for spinning tires), or "ESC" (electronic stability control) lights for a sliding vehicle.

Safety Lights
Most cars have a diagrammatic warning that indicates a door that isn't all the way closed, a seat-belt warning light, and an "airbag disabled/enabled" light. Any or all of these will be red or amber.

Why does my traction off light come on?

You either have a problem with your engine control system, the traction control system, or you are not in the correct gear. See the explaination below. This is from the 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier Owner's Manual.

TRAC-OFF LIGHT

... If you turn the system off by moving the shift lever

to FIRST (1) or SECOND (2), the warning light will

come on and stay on. To turn the system back on,

move the shift lever back to a position other than

FIRST (1) or SECOND (2). The warning light

should go off. (See "Enhanced Traction System"

in the Index for more information.)

The warning light will come on when you set your

parking brake with the engine running, and it will

stay on if your parking brake doesn't release fully.

If the transaxle shift lever is in any position other

than FIRST (1) or SECOND (2) and the warning

light stays on after your parking brake is fully

released, it means there's a problem with the system.

If the traction control system is affected by an

engine-related problem, the system will turn off

and the warning light will come on.

If the Enhanced Traction System warning light comes

on and stays on for an extended period of time when the

transaxle shift lever is in any position other than FIRST
(1) or SECOND (2) your vehicle needs service.

What does the master warning light mean? (triangel with ! and the three lights points to the car).

This light shows operational status of traction control system. If it is constantly lit when engine is running, this means that traction control system is off. If the light flashes during driving, it means the loss of traction at the wheels, and traction control system is operating- decreasing engine torque to stop exessive wheelspin.
Good luck.

Warning lights what do they mean, a triangle with a line in the middle

This is the Traction Control Warning light. Traction control is device added to the engine/gearbox sytem, and is designed to help minimise wheel spins when moving away, particularly on a slippery surface. When the system detects the wheels starting to slip and Traction control starts to cut in this warning light shows.

Traction control cannot do much to help in severe ice or snow though, so you can expect to see this light showing or flashing if the conditions are extreme.

If this light shows when the conditions are not extreme, stopping and restarting the engine will often reset it.
