If you can duplicate the event in your driveway, you can check fuel pressure and spark at the plugs when it won't start to narrow down the possible causes.

You may want to replace your crankshaft position sensor. They tend to "open" the circuit when they get heated after they have begun to wear out.

1984 toyota pickup, 22R engine, stalls out when driving 2-8 miles

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the rubber fuel lines being old and cracked. The hoses would warm up and fuel would squirt out of the cracks. I had to replace three fuel line hoses and it has been running great ever since. Good luck.

Temperture Gage

First of all, it doesn't sound like your thermostat is working correctly to keep good hot/warm air coming , so I would change that, or have it changed for better heating inside. If you lift the hood & look in front of your radiator, On the engine side, you'll see a fan attached to, or in front of the radiator. It won't come on until the coolant temperature gauge gets up to proper operating temperature. Without getting in to too much detail, have your thermostat changed, and my guess is everything else will start working as it should, and whoever does the work, should know enough to check the fan operation when they do the thermostat.

Wont start.

The cam or crank position sensors are notorious for failing, after they age and get heat in them the signal is no longer generated. Also make sure fuel lift pump is working properly, check all of the fuel filters and for fuel leaks of any kind including sucking air on the suction side of the lift pump. Good Luck!!

Heat in my 94 Toyota Tercel has a problem and so does the ignition.

warm your car up to temperture. Grab the upper rediator hose. Is it warm or cool. If its cool your thermosat is stuck closed and thats why you have no heat. If that works fine I would look at your heater core next.

Temperture icon flashes

if the light is blue it just means the car is not at operating temperature yet. let the car warm up before driving. if the light is red and only stays on for seconds check the coolant level. could possibly be a bad level sensor also if the light is red
