What type of antifreeze do I use in 92 Volvo 740 turbo wagon?

I have replaced all the old hoses on my 92 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon, and now need to refill the radiator. What type of antifreeze do I use? Do I mix it before I put it in? If it were empty, I read it should hold 7.6 quarts. Since all of the fluid probably did not drain out, how do I know how much to put in?

It is a right hand thread and you usually need an impact gun. Take the fan out of the way, to give you more room, I have found that helps.

SOURCE: '90 Volvo 740 2.3l turbo water pump install instructons needed

Go to an auto supply store like PEP boys or Advance Auto, etc., and buy a Haynes Repair Manual for the 740. You may be able to consult one at your local library for free. Even if it doesn't cover your model year, the replacement instructions are pretty much the same for all years. in fact even a 240 Volvo manual would be essentially the same. Pay particular attention to the installation instructions....you have to slide the pump on, and then rotate it a few degrees clockwise to make the upper o-ring seal. Good luck!

Engine swap, car will not start

It sounds like you don't have the correct flex plate and it is throwing the timing off not letting it fire at the correct time.

I had a 87 740 turbo wagon, It ran a 10.9 1/4 mile man was it fun. I hate to say that your turbo is nearing the end of its life. The only thing you can do is replace it. there are speciality shops that specilize in turbos. if you can't find one close check out a Diesel truck shop, they deal in turbos too. maybe you can have it rebuilt a little cheaper, or I can tell you how make it pass a Corvette. Good luck.
