Possibly oil leak from rockercover onto exhaust,burning smell and even a little smoke,i had a 98 and the same issue,theyre very good so its not going to be too serious,rocker cover gaskets are normal to do

There is an air sensor on your air filter intake. I would first suggest having this checked for proper function. There are other sensors that can also be checked. Your problem does not sound mechanical
Sidebar: I have always used full-synthetic oil for turbo-equipped automobiles.
Turbo manifold, blow off valve, waste gate, intercooler, turbo timer, piggyback or standalone ECU, most likely an all new exhaust system, new intake, filter. An oil cooler may be needed, as those turbo chargers are most likely cooled and lubricated by the oil in the engine, needing to be piped through the turbo itself.
Leaking of any fluid is not normal. The only time any fluid should expel from the car is if you have overfilled something. Your turbo could need replacing, you could have a hole in the intercooler. Have you noticed any lack of performance or extra smoke...
If oil is accumulting inside the inetercooler, it means that the turbo-shaft seal is leaking causing oil to by pass in to the intake system, then through to your intercooler. A quick check to see if this is a fault, remove the hose/piping from the turbo the intercooler and place a piece of white paper over the hole at the turbo where the air is dispelled. Run the engine for a few minutes and if you notice any oil occuring/building up on the white papaer, then it is the turbo seal. This method is used on everything from jetskis to dump trucks. If no oil is present then the oil leak will be coming from somewhere else on the engine, and being sucked in through to the top of the intercooler. May have to remove it to see where any other leaks are coming from.
i think u might have forgotten to flush out the turbo pipes and intercooler before u started the engine with the new turbo cos they would have been full of oil from the blown turbo
Hallo 1.Disconect lower hose from intercooler and oil (from 0,1 liter or more) (sometimes 1-2 liters) comes out, you should not drive it.(car had probably loose power) Change the turbine, oil and oil filter. do not forget to disconect lower hose and let oil drain out. Otherwise when new turbine is instald, the air flow will **** this oil inside the engine and distroy it. 2.your car is not designed to run without turbine and will not work like normal disel.(SDI). hope it helps Marko
Check out the throttle sensor.If its ok then you have a injection pump problem.IF you cannotturrn the engine of when the car starts reving then its running on its own oil.
how far did you drive it after installing turbo??? sometimes you need to take it out on the highway for several miles to burn everthing out of the exhaust system.
