If its a hydrulic cluch there will be a bleeder screw on the trans. follow the line from the resevor on the firewall to the trans. however I belive this car has a manul cluch that just uses a cable.I just noticed you cant find slave. now I know its a cable, push the cluch in and out and if u see anything moving near the trans its cable operated.

Regarding the heating issue, sounds like your thermostat is stuck open so the coolant isn't heating up. (May need replacement) Does your engine temp guage show it running colder than normal?

SOURCE: cannot get clutch to bleed

TO bleed get some one to pump the pedal 4times fast and hold it down, then you undo the nipple, then lock it up again and do again then it should be 100% but if not and the slave cylinder was new then ok,,, but if you rebuilt it then recheck it and put the rubber and piston in correctly and rebleed
Now if still no good then get the master cylinder rebuilt and honed out.
Let me know if still having trouble Ron

SOURCE: I have changed the clutch master cylinder and the

Thn the problem is the clutch master cylinder, it should build up pressure, ok try out this, remove the pipe which is going to the slave cylinder either from the clutch master cylinder or at the clutch slave cylinder and get someone to pump the pedal while you block the pipe and see if there is fluid thrown out with pressure. If there is pressure there thn fit back the pipe and refill the reserviour wth brake fluid and open the bleeding nipple at the slave cylinder let some fluid pour out and tighten it and thn pump the pedal and retry bleeding.
If there is no pressure at the pipe thn its the clutch master cylinder.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: 2003 RSX Manual: Slave cylander has been replaced twice. Still leaking fluid until transmission freezes. Mechanic can't find source of leak. Any ideas?

Do you understand the location of the slave cylinder and the master cylinder The master is the one on the clucth pedal the slave is in the bell houseing between the engine and transmission Like reynaldo said look for oil inside the cabin near the clucth pedal. The clucth system is a sealed hydrlic system like the break system . If air is getting in then oil is getting out To me it sounds like the master cylinder because you say the transmission frezzes and you can't shift the vehicle so the slave must be working at some point until enough air gets into the system to make it stop workinkg .Also make sure the master for the brakes is not to supply for the clutch some times it is not offten but check it

Can not bleed clutch on 1987 GMC 2500

There is still air in the system. Try bleeding the m/cyl first by removing the line to the slave cyl and while holding you finger over the opening have someone gently operate the pedal. When you get good fluid past your finger reconnect the line then bleed the slave cyl. as normal.

How do i bleed the master cylinder on an 02 lancer

Check the slave cylinder on the transmission for leaks, and replace if it is. Bleeding:
1. put fluid in the master reservoir.
2. move the slave actuator shaft so the clutch release lever has not slack.
3. Have someone press the clutch pedal, and crack the slave bleed nipple to let out the air.

Once the slave moves the release lever, you'll be able to decide if the clutch is OK or not.

My clutch seems to have gone out tonight. The clutch is very easy to push to the floor...and it pops back....there's no pressure at all. The clutch fluid is leaking from the hose. Could this be the...

it could be either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder,it could also be the clutch pressure plate check the master & slave cylinders first because if it's the pressure plate the gear box will have to be removed to replace the pressure plate, even if you are uncertain it is most likely cheaper to replace the master & slave cylinders than it would be to replace the pressure plate.....hope this helps......cheers.

How is the best way to bleed a master and slave cylinder for a clutch on a 01 dodge 2500 6 speed with the cummins

Bleeding any Dodge clutch hydraulics are very difficult & almost impossible. The best solution is to buy the whole assembly (master, line, slave) from the dealer. Its pre-bleed & all together. So don't separate or open system!!!! just install & go. Also do not remove plastic piece that holds the pin in at the slave. There is a reason(manufacturer) does all of this. It might seem expensive but the time you spend trying to bleed & or replace parts to fix it, will pay off.

Fitted new clutch and slave cylinder in 2.5 v6

crawl up under the dashboard & look where the clutch pedal rod goes through the firewall. look for traces of brake fluid at the rubber boot of the rod. a clutch master cylinder normally will leak to the inside of the vehicle & down the firewall when it fails. Replace as required & bleed clutch system using the bleeder valve that should be on the slave asy.
