Location of all the bolts to remove the the value cover and gasket on 04 lincoln ls

The bolts are in plain site around the outer
edges of the valve covers

I have an 04 V8

If you have a V6 you will have to remove the
upper intake

it is down under the intake manifold. the intake manifold must be removed to get to it. this vehicle is known for developing a vacum leak in the elbow hose that connects to pcv valve, so ive done a few.

You have fuses and relays-

Under the hood.pass side,front,next to washer bottle and ABS motor

On the right side kick panel,under glove box. Have to remove cover

In trunk,lift cover,left of battery.

Driver side valve cover
7mm socket to remove coil covers and coil

1 thru 4 pass side
5 thru 8 drivers side

SOURCE: Location: Coolant Temp Sensor 2001 Lincoln LS V6

It is on the Driver side of engine in between the COP's (Coil on plugs) simply unplug the wire use a 19 or 3/4 deep well socket and unscrew it and put it new one... The whole process should only take 10-15 minutes.

It is possible, but hard to say for sure. The LS is based on the Jaguar platform, but it is the body panels that are the difference. There is no interchange that will tell, so the best advice I have is try it. Take measurements and look at bolt patterns. You might get lucky.

You replace the Transmission Pressure Control Solenoid Pack

There are 3 pressure control solenoids & 4 shift solenoids in one
plastic part ,made by Bosch

You remove the trans pan,the gasket is reuseable silicone
You remove the filter
You remove approx 7 -- T30 bolts, holding the solenoid pack
& one 10mm electrical connector bolt

Power Steering Pump - 3.9L
Special Tool(s) st1444a.gif Teflon® Seal Replacer Set
211-D027 (D90P-3517-A) or equivalent
Removal
  1. Remove four pushpins and the engine cover.

  1. Remove the air cleaner and the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to Section 303-12.
  1. Remove the bolts.

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section 303-05.
  1. Unclamp and disconnect the power steering reservoir-to-pump hose (3691) and drain the reservoir (3E764) into a suitable container.

  1. Position the power steering reservoir out of the way.
    1. Loosen the bolts.
    1. Rotate the reservoir from the insulator.
    1. Pull the reservoir down from the insulator and position the reservoir out of the way.

  1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02.
  1. Remove the wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to Section 204-04.
  1. Remove two bolts, one pushpin and the shield.

Where are the coil packs located on an 04 Lincoln LS v8? I have traced the wires from the spark plugs, but cannot see where they lead...

This is for the 3.0L engine:

3.0L Engine
  1. Remove the engine appearance cover.
  2. To access the right bank ignition coils, remove the upper intake manifold..
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coils.
  4. Remove the bolts.
  5. Remove the ignition coils.

To install:


  1. Replace the ignition coils.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the ignition coils.
  3. Remove the upper intake manifold for the right bank ignition coils.
  4. Replace the engine appearance cover.
