I have a 2000 Volvo non turbo s80 2.9 - I have seen people talking about a tranmission issue. Mine is a bit different. After about 10 mins of driving, it will accelerate VERY slowly from a dead stop. However, if I turn off the engine, it will be have normally for another few minutes. Ideas?

Its not reading earth the throttle position or the abs. or can even be the engine revs. low voltage can be a problem that causes this. a bad connection or even a faulty alternator. turn off then back on again is resetting the power and the longer on the weaker it goes to. like a bad regulator.

First check for holes or disconnected air inlet hoses, that will give the sensor/meter a problem so it cannot send the correct signal.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

This is a strange code that doesn't appear to have one definitive reason, it's a bit of "you have a bit of a problem, but we aren't sure". Just Answer dot com mechanic says it is the MAF Sensor.

Can we disconnect turbo?

if you remove the turbo from that car, the car will not run very well because the computer is setup to run with a turbo device, it need the air flow to force the fuel where it need to go. after removing the turbo you are going to have fuel issue, stay running, be fore you buy it go to the owner ask if they would mind if you or them disconnect the belt from the turbo charger and restart the car, see how well it runs, try and drive it, if every thing works okay, than buy the car and leave the belt off the charger.

Can't find a test for the vehicle speed sensor.

The bad news is the only part that is connected to all of these is the ECM or computer.

Where is fuel filter on 1998 Volvo S70 non turbo?

The fuel filter can be located under the carpeted cargo storage floor at the rear of the wagon. Remove the four 10mm bolts, remove the cover. You will then see a removable plate to the right just behind the rear passenger seat. Fuel filter can be seen through hole in hole. Replaced from underneath wagon. Be sure to make sure lines are fully inserted onto filter. Check for leaks. Note arrow on filter for correct fuel flow. Good luck and hope this helps and no smoking please LOL
