I just bought a Honda CRX and after some torrential rain I can hear water trapped in the trunk of the car. I've checked it out and it is dry and figured it must be down in the rear window well. The removable roof doesn't appear to be leaking. I read online that there are drainage channels in the trunk somewhere and if they get blocked water can get trapped. If this is the case where can I find a diagram of the area affected so when I take it in to be fixed I know what they are talking about? Is this a serious and continual problem or can it be sorted out?. Or have I bought a lemon?

Hi, i have the exact same problem. I have water coming in, but i can't hear it. i can't make out where it is coming from and it is stressing me out! Help anyone, who will be able to solve this problem for me?!
I have excatley the same problem i can hear the water swishing but i cant understand how and where it is, will it be the rear window well and if it is where will the drain plugs be.. I am so glad to konw that i am not the only one with this problem.. thanks in advance.
Check all the rubber seals and rear lights, water tends to get trapped in those areas
No car ive ever heard of is like what you have described. i think you got hold of a bad car. eventually if there is water trapped in there somewhere it will make the frame start to rust out

I took it to a panelbeater and they gained access to the water which was down in the rear window well, like I thought. The two drainage holes inside were clogged with dirt and debris so once these were cleaned out the problem was resolved. A design fault of the CRX obviously and one to be aware of. It's a smashing car otherwise. Thanks for the input on my question.

Aaron by a panelbeater I am guessing you mean an autobody repairman, right? Anyway I have the same problem with a 91 CRX that leaks at the driver side rear window. I was told by a guy at MAACO who repainted the car for us that it is a design flaw with some drainage holes.
Aaron could you be more specific as to where exactly the clogged drainage holes in the rear window well you mention. I would sure appreciate it. If it is possible could you take a pic of the area and somehow show where the drainage holes are located Thanks
