IF THIS WILL BE A JACK YOU USE OFTEN I WOULD GO FOR A 2 1/2 OR 3 TON.THE LARGER JACK WILL GIVE YOU MORE LIFT . YOU DO NOT WANT TO OVERLOAD A JACK AND ALWAYS USE JACKSTANDS

SOURCE: 1993 Toyota Camry V6 Timing Settings

Get a T belt from toyota. It has 3 white lines on it and and arrow mark. 2 lines are solid and one is broken. Put the arrow facing away from the engine. The cam gears have a dot punched into them near a certain tooth. This is where the solid white lines will line up with. The crank gear will have a dot also. It will line up at 90 degrees from the top, towards the front of the car. This is where the broken line will match up with. With the belt installed with all lines on their proper dots and arrow away from the engine, you valve timming is correct.
Of course you need to remove and compress the tensioner also. I assume you know this already since you didn't ask.

90 toyota camry replacing transmission its an automatic electronic **** has to be a dx or le. Looking for a how to guide or list of tools I will need. I cannot lift the engine.

  1. You do not need to lift the engine but do need to support it with an extra jack.
You will need
  1. Chasis stands
  2. 200kg trollry jack with approx 28-30mm spigot.(Weld a 7/8 socket in the middle of a plate just big enough as the size of the transmission sump ,now this will act as an adapter plate for the transmission to rest on-secure ****** with something on this but will be quite stable
  3. sockets and spanners
  4. rod end removal tool
  5. pry bar

How to change power steering pump

  • Lift the front of the Camry with the jack. Put jack stands beneath the chassis to support the weight of the car. Take off the front wheels with the tire iron.
  • Unbolt the plastic apron seats on the inside of the fender wells with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Put the drain pan underneath the power steering pump on the passenger side of the engine.
  • Remove the lines running into the power steering pump, using a line wrench, and pull off the vacuum lines. Loosen the adjustment bolts on the power steering pump with an open-end wrench, and pull the belt off the pump.
  • Unbolt the power steering pump from the engine block with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket, then remove the pump from the vehicle

Jacking point for 1990 Toy Camry center of front.

Probably best to do one side at a time, there is a frame underneath the passenger and drivers sides that you can jack up on, or you can jack up on the pinchweld located behind the tires, though probably best to go on the frame.
Then use jackstands, and should work good. or can just do one side at a time.
