SOURCE: Solara DRL's
I also have a '99 Solara. I hate the DRL's also, and had to disable them when I got Xenon headlights. What you have to do is remove the trim around your radio. To do this gently use a flat head screwdriver and pry around the outside. This doesn't take too much effort. Then unscrew the 4 bolts holding the radio in and remove the radio. Now look behind the radio and to the left and you will see a blue wire harness plugged into a module. You need to unclip this harness from the module (was hard for me because of my big hands) but eventually you will get it. Now look at the wire colors and find the red wire with blue markings on it. Thats the one you want to pull out. You cannot just pull this wire out. You need to carefully open the harness with a safety pin, carefully unsnapping it and exposing all of the wire ends. Pull out the red/blue wire and tape it back. Plug harness back into relay and test your work before reassembling everything.
SOURCE: 1997 deville, battery drains overnight, pin
I've replaced several rear body control modules that go bad and drain the battery. It is located behind the seat, black box about 4" x 5" rectangle. You can use a hand held scanner to diagnose them, the ones I replaced did throw a code. It is complicated and you need a pinout chart to diagnose it with an ohm meter. The ones I got were new and ran around $350.00

Hello and welcome to Fixya!
As
a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the
positive batter connector and let it sit for atleast 5mins. before
reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get your vehicle
back to it's normal operation.
Please do keep me
posted on the progress. I'll be glad to help you out. Hope this helps
and thank you for using Fixya! Have a good one!

So you think its the fuel filter at fault? Is the engine light ON? and what are the trouble codes?
SOURCE: a/c compressor won't engage in 2000 dodge stratus. Changed out clutch relay, but still not engaging.

Testimonial: "Yeah, that was the problem. Charged with a can of refrigerant I got at Advance Auto Parts and compressor kicked on when about half the can was empty."
[Information] For a 2002 Toyota Camry, the Daytime
Running Lights (DRL) operate utilizing the High Beams (inner Lamps closer to
the center of the vehicle front) at a reduced power.
[The troubleshooting process:] Review the Owner's Manual and ensure the test
configuration matches the following criteria:
1. According to the 2002 Toyota Camry Owner's Manual (Check your Owners Manual):
"The DRL system will make your headlights come on at a reduced brightness
when:
The light switch s in the "DRL" position.
The ignition is on with the engine running.
The headlight switch is off.
The parking brake is released."
2. Set the Test Conditions according to Step 1 above.
3. Check the headlight bulbs to ensure they are not
burned out. If one burns out, there is a fair chance that the other would have burned
out at the same time. Replace as necessary.
In this case, if the high beams operate, the DRLs should also operate.
4. Test the system, ensuring the step 1 conditions are set. (Engine running, Multi-function
Switch on Turn Signals in "DRL" position, headlight switch off
(repeating what the manual says -- it should be obvious that in the
"DRL" position, the headlight switch should be off / do not have the
switch positioned to "High Beam"), and the Parking Brake
"off").
5. If DRL lights do not work, check the engine compartment Fuse and Relay Box.
there is a 5 Amp DRL fuse -- replace it with the spare. Test (step 4).
6. If it does not work, swap around or replace relays -- there are three (3).
Any one of them could be bad (stuck or burned out). Test (step 4).
7. Other less likely possible issues
could be that the Multi-function Switch is broken or a connection / wire is
broken. [Beyond the scope of this
process.]
My problem was that the test configuration did not have
the engine running and parking brake off - Step 1. Problem solved with much
thought, repetitive tests on the vehicle and going back to the basics -- what
does the Owner's Manual say and where are the applicable fuses and relays
located?
