1987 Nissan Sentra Wont Start (died after going through a puddle)

The car has had problems with staying running when engine is warm. When you took your foot off the gas and came to a stop the engine would die. Not sure if the problems are related but since the car stopped starting, the coil and distributor have both been replaced... Any ideas what the problem could be?

The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valves like to stick on these cars, they get fouled up with carbon and if they get stuck open, the car will not want to idle well and even stall out. they are vacumn operated and can usually be cleaned with some carb cleaner and small picks. before you clean it, try moving the diaphram up with your fingers and see if it comes back down. this will tell you if its stuck. the EGR manifold port can also become clogged solid and requires removal for cleaning.

My 1997 nissan sentra dies at idle and then cranks but wont start unless let sit about 10 minutes only with engine warm worse on a hot day,

I would check the ignition module then maybe the coil. Check with autozone or kragen they should test it for free.

2003 nissan sentra se-r spec v heard a pop now wont stay started

Sounds like a fuel supply problem. The fact that it does momentarily start, indicates its not an electrical issue. However, no steady fuel supply to the injectors and it won't run for more than a second or tow. Your problem is in the fuel delivery system most likely. Either the pump, or (if the unit is located in the fuel tank) the fuel filter may have ruptured. That would sent all the fuel back to the fuel tank not to the injectors.

Have 1987 nissan sentra wagon 1.6 carb.engine the problem is an idle problem when I start in the morning or when its had time to cool down I depress the accelorator pedel to set the choke and high idle cam...

Check your Ignition timing before anything
check your plugs see what color they are
red or orange means carb is to lean , black
or oil means to rich then you can go from there
and set mixture screws on carb , let me no how you make out .

1990 nissan sentra wont start

It seems you have a timing problem. Have the engine timed properly. If that does not work it could be a craked rotor or distributor cap. have all these checked.
