SOURCE: code p0700

take a volt meter to the TPS with the ignition on and car off. do a voltage sweep by reading the voltage at idle on the gas pedal and slowly push the gas pedal to the floor. if the sensor is good you should see a steady increase in voltage from around .6 volts to 5 volts.

My 2001 dodge dakota keeps reading me a code #p0700 and the transmission slips when its cold ive changed the trans filter and oil what do i need to do about this

I would think, you would have diagnosed the PO700 Code

If it has been slipping for a couple weeks,I would start
planning on a rebuild, in month or so.

Clean the valve body and diagnose the Codes you have

PO700 PO740, check engine light on. Run a test on

PO700 is a code telling you there are codes in the TCM of some late model cars where the Transmission control module has lost connection to the PCM the vehicals main computer , And basically it happens when the TCM has a issue within itself or the transmission that sets a code and it sends a request for the PCM to illuminate the SES or CHECK engine light.
PO740 is a chrystler specific code that involves your Tourqe Converter Clutch Circuit (specifically The TCC solenoid) this code if not repaired quickly could cause major transmission problems....slipping out of gear....not shifting from first to second properly and just all around trans problems...eventually leading to no shifting at all...I highly recommend fixing it soon.

Po605 and po700

p0700 is a generic trans. code, so the problem if it is in the trans. would require further trans diag. so i would scan trans specific codes first. but in most cases when a chrysler tells you it is an internal controller fault you can believe it. just make sure which controller it is telling you has a fault!

PO 171 and PO174 codes but different problem

transmision shifts are based on engine load imputs a 171 and 174 refer to a lean condition therefor the shift is being based on an assumed cold engine so yes it may be related

Code po700 problem

First thing, smell your fluid to see if it smells burned. The code po 700 is a trans. control problem code, which could be because of burned clutches, but I don't really think that's the case. The best way to tell if you have an internal trans problem is to drop the pan and see if there's a lot of debris in the pan. If there is a lot of junk in the pan, more than likely you'll have to have the trans. rebuilt. I would take it to a dealer and have them run a trans diagnostic on it. With their scan tool, they can check your clutch volumes, turn all your sensors off and on to tell you what your problem is. Hope this helps. Phil
