My problem is the the dome lights wont go off when the sliding door is closed, wich I was able able to locate which door was the problem by with the car running, open and close each door and see which door does not have the chime operate. It being the my side door, I have cleaned the contacts with no avail, any ideas why there is 4 contacts on the sliding door? can it be replaced with a normal switch?
Do you know anything about automotive electronics ?
All courtesy lamps are controlled by the generic electronic module (GEM).
The four contacts are not switches , the part you want to replace is the door ajar switch . The door ajar switch is inside the door part of the lock actuator . Those contacts just allow circuit continuity when the door is closed , when you open the door continuity is broken or open . The GEM now know the door is open an will now turn on the dome lights . The door ajar switches stick , try spraying WD-40 into the door latch ,open an closing the latch . If this doesn't fix the problem you will need to take the inside door trim panel off and replace the ajar switch .

U will need to buy a can of spray white grease and clean and then lubricate all the tracks the door channels on as well as all the latches for the door, this will cure the issue in most cases, did allot of these while working at a Ford dealer.

I did the same thing.
You can get to the interior lamps in the driver's side kick panel, where the hood release is at.
To access this, remove the driver's side step sill ( need to remove the door weather stripping on the bottom ) it is held on with 3 spring clips, along with the trim piece around the hood latch.
Once you have removed this, there will be several connectors in the kick panel, mounted to the inside fo the a-pillar.
The bottom connector with a white plastic cover on it, has 2 Black w/ light blue stripe wires. You want the one towards the outside of the truck ( this is circuit # 53 ). Confirm with a meter. The other black w/ light blue stripe wire towards the inside of the truck is not the one to use ( this is circuit # 875 ).
Use a splice on this wire for lower AMP draws ( like LEDs ) or use to trigger a relay on larger loads.
When you removed the door sill, you might have seen the plastic grommet under the carpet. It is about inline with the floor mat clip. This is a nce route to under the truck. Use an awl or simialr to push the wire through, and run the wire in the channel with the others to the kick panel area.

Spray lubricant in the driver's and passenger door latches. One of the switches in the latch are sticking. Open and close the door several times to free up the switch.
