SOURCE: the remote to unlock the doors won't work.

I hope you're able to get into your car because it sounds like the system needs to be reprogrammed.

1-insert and remove key from ignition two times

2-close and open driver door two times

3-insert and remove key once from ign.

4-close and open drvr door twice

5-insert key into ign.,then close driver door

6-turn key to on (not start) then off, twice this is rewrite mode, have all remotes to reprogram it will clear any lost remotes.

7-remove key from ignition, the door locks should cycle twice.if not start over.it may take a few tries.

8-press lock/unlock together and hold for a second

9-release,and press lock on remote, the door locks will cycle confirming program.continue to do other remotes you have, steps 8 and 9.if only one in possession, you are done. To end mode open door or insert key into ignition.

You'll need to follow the steps with no more than a 1-2 second delay between each step.. hope it works

SOURCE: need help on replacing door handle on toyota camry

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. If it's the inside handle, just disconnect the rod to the back of the handle to replace it. If it's the outside handle, pull back the weather seal and you'll be able to remove the bolts holding down the outer door handle

SOURCE: can not lock car by key remote . toyota rav 4 53 plate

If your car has an alarm with a separate remote, it is a separate system and it is probably self-arming. When you lock the doors with the key central lock, the alarm gets armed by the RAV4 being OFF and the door locking action. When you unlock the doors with the key, the alarm is still armed because the key is not comunicating with the alarm just the cars factory keyless system.

I have a 1999 Toyota solara. The battery died. When I charged the battery now the alarm sounds and the car want start. How do I reset the immobiliser

Hello, try doing this:

with the key out of the ignition disconnect the negative battery cable

put the key in and turn to ON, leave door open
reconnect the battery
if the alarm stays off enter the car and leave door open try to start.
This works on most non factory installed toyota systems.

How do you reset the alarm on a 1999 toyota camry if i dont have the remote locking mechanisim

Operation of the theft deterrent system is discussed in the 1999 Toyota Camry Owner's Manual beginningh on page 21. Unlocking the door with the key should disarm the alarm system. If it does not disarm when using the key, there are only two possibilities:

> You have an aftermarket alarm system installed in addition to the system tht was provided by the manufacturer and they are interfering with each other.

> OR

> Your vehicle needs service to correct the malfunction.

You might try unlocking the car from the passenger side or use the key to open the trunk first to see if this works. If it does, the switch inside the driver door is probably malfunctioning.

Horn on my sienna goes off while replacing the battery

Hook up cables and lock all doors, first try unlocking drivers door with key. If that does not workstart over and then try unlocking trunk/hatch with key. This usually will work, I highly sugest you use original key if possible.

If you have a keyless remote, use it to lock and unlock your doors-if not, lock your door with the door lock, close the door, and unlock the door with the key. This should reset the alarm.

Replaced the battery on my 95 Camry and as soon as I open the door the alarm starts sounding. Help.

you set off the alarm.if you do not have the remote, get one as you need to unlock it with the remote.some vehicles if you lock and unlock the passenger door twice, will turn it off. call toyota, they can reset it more than likely with the obd2 computer. in the future, when changing the battery,a back up battery has to be wired in parallell with the main battery before it is disconnected.
