SOURCE: Car won't start after filling up the gas tank.

Just helped a friend fix this exact same issue on his 2004 hyundai santa fe. Replaced the purge control valve - a $39 part, even from the dealer. Had to get our hands dirty, but it took literally one single hour to replace the part. Filled it up immediately afterward and no more starting problems. Part is located directly behind the manifold - top, rear of the engine compartment - just between the engine

My 1998 Hyundai Elantra will not start after running out of gas. When I put gas in it ,it would crank but it took a long time to start. I drove it 3 miles and it shut off. I cranked it and cranked it,but it...

Don't let the car run out of gas. Fill the tank and run until the tank is half empty. Again fill the tank.
By driving until you run out of gas, you are letting sediments/dirt collected in the bottom of the tank to enter the engine. Rather they will block the fuel filter. Then gas will not reach the engine.
Clean the gas filter and your car will run fine.
The same advice again. Don't drive until the tank becomes empty.

Car cranks but doesn't start

Take the car in and have the fuel injector computer tested. If you're hearing the crank, you're getting good spark, but the fuel/air mix is off. Ensure your air filter is clean, and have that computer checked, all it takes is a little bit of bit-wander to make your fuel-air mix go completely haywire.

My 97 Elantra won't start. It's a manual transmission and I have to depress the clutch to start it. The battery is fine. Today I kept pressing on the clutch and it finally started.

do you mean it wont turn over until you push the clutch pedal in, then after several attempts it finally did turnover and run???? clutch switch may be going bad.

Coolant leak in the back of water pump.

replace water pump; sounds like it's coming from the weep hole(that's what it's called), because it starts like tears, and then comes the floodgates. your're gonna need a w pump.
