u have to remove the panel that has the door handle in it, remove the panel which has the window and the seat adjusters, unplug the wires and just lift the door panel and there u are.

I do think you have to pull he dash, for that you will need a manusl, try ebay for used factory manuals, I have had good luck getting them there for all my cars.

This can be a major operation. Go to public library and see if they have a chilton repair book on this car. The pump has about twenty bolts af various sizes and torx head bolts.

How do i get the plastic pulley off of the cam shaft that drives the water pump, its melted to **** . need to replace it .
the only way is to cut it off use a die grinder with a cutting blade WEAR EyE PROTECTION

I need to replace the water pump pully on my 4.9 is this difficult
Hello: That is not difficult to replace the pulley. If the pulley wobbles it is not the pulley.... The shaft bearing may be bad and that would make the pulley wobble. The pulley is held on with three bolts that have a 13mm head. If after removing the pulley you can move the shaft up and down you need a water pump.

Where is the water pump located on a 1998 cadillac deville
The water pump is on the front driver's side of the engine. It is spun by a small belt driven from the end of the cam shaft. You will see a cover up and to the right of the oil dipstick. That covers the pulley. Follow the belt and you will find the water pump. It requires a special tool to replace.

I need to replace the cam pulley that drives the water pump belt on a 1997 deville is this pully pressed on do I use a pulley puller to remove it?
if there is a dimple in the middle of the shaft, then you will probably need a pulley remover. make sure you havent missed any bolts that you have to go through little holes on the pulley to get to also. and also turn the pulley and look for any bolts that hold it on that are on the sides of the pulley, like a allen key bolt but on the side of the pulley that holds it on that way. i hope this helps

If you have the proper tool it will press it on after you thread the bolt in. Also put a little oil on shaft to help it on its way.

How to install crank sensor on 02 cadillac deville
should be located near or behind the bottom engine pulley on the front of the motor, unplug the sensor, unscrew its mounting screw and fit the new one, you may have to get the pulley removed with the help of a friend with a breaker-bar and puller with the car in gear if manual, or use a garage as it will be hellish tight. Don't lose the little woodruff key that locates in the shaft and ensures the pulley does not slip in operation.
