Today when driving my 2002 Lexus ES 300 I noticed my air conditioning auto button was not on. After pressing the auto button it would hold for ten to fifteen seconds and then turn off. The auto button stopped running unless I held my finger on the button. When I would hold my finger on the auto button cold air would come out of the vents and the fan would blow. I have no idea what could the problem could be. Any one have this same problem?

. Yes it could. some are vacuum powered, cable powered (mechanically) or electric powered. If the valve does not open. The hot water will not get to the heater core. It could also be the thermostat not opening.

there is a valet switch which prevents this check the glovebox or the panel that opens with the adjustment controls not sure of your model year has all this but if it does you would know where it is
