2001 Ford F-150 Revving at idle.

2001 Ford F-150 4.2 V6, with 99,945 miles. Revving at idle. sometimes lerching the truck and have to kick it into netral, has actualy died a couple of times and then sometimes just a mellow revving increase. When it warms up it seems to clear up most of the time? I am getting faults for bank 1 and bank 2 to lean but I am lerry to change both 02 sencers for I am finding it hard to believe they both went out at once. could there be something else causing this? Thanks for the help!

Notorious for vacuum leaks from failed hoses/tubing/conectors.Some of these are very hard to see/access.Check for this and be sure fuel filter is fresh. Look at fuel pressure. Check MAF sensor for dirt that has bypassed air filter. Good luck! Rate me please.

Does you f 150 have electronic throttle control ? An does it have Variable Cam Timing (VCT) - if it does have Variable Cam Timing (VCT) it doesn't have an EGR valve ! What type scan tool did you use to pull the code with ? My FORD factory service information does not show that code for A 2004 F - 150 5.4 L 3 valve engine !

I have a revving sound on the engine when I shift gears. The rpms are not high so I am baffled. This is a ford f-150 6 cylinder 4.2l , man trans. It idles normal

Sounds like you may need to replace the TPS (throttle position sensor), that will cause the idle not to fall in between shifts.
