Hello, Diesel Hi-test made by lubra-moly is a great additive for diesels but usually only found at some of your Mercedes diesel repair stations. Lucas also makes some good products.

If you find this information to be correct would you please enter a "fixya" rating.
Thanks, Gator241

What grade engine oil is recommended for my 2c diesel engine?

depending on the ambient temperature of where you are that would be a good viscosity for low temperatures. When it gets hot in the area then change up to a 30w-50 viscosity. Make sure that you are using diesel grade oil as there are more additives in it than what is in petrol engine oil

Toyota lucida hard to start most times. occasionaly ok. 2.2 diesel. everything seems to work as should

in cold weather diesel gels up and sometimes causes a no start issue..a cetane fuel additive helps with this issue. if temps go below 20 degrees, add a quart per tankful of cetane to the fuel to help start on cold mornings. also diesels require more amperage to crank than gas engines do..thus a stronger battery is needed..

Engine misses while climbing hills or under acceleration load, 1997 Lincoln Continental, 4.6 ltr V8

i had same problem always try easiest/cheapest first A. fuel filter B. loose or cracked vaccuum line C. cap and rotor D. have coil pack checked. if youve ran the car low on gas recently the fuel pump filter may have picked up some trash. also instead of fuel injector cleaner get a bottle of heat for about two dollars it might be your gas.... stay away from gas containing ethanol it also has water pay the ten cents extra for non ethanol gas youll get way better gas milage which will make up for the extra cost at fill up and this will keep your injectors clean.. good luck

My Audi A4 2000 TDI year 2005 has run on two tanks of Bio fuel recently and it hasn't recovered... started stuttering. Fuel system has been flushed out, air flow mand air flow meter has been changed but...

Audi 1.9 TDI and 2.0 TDI engines with pump-nozzle injection system, (year 2005 included), don't have permission to run with Bio fuel !!!
First you must replace fuel filter, interflow a quality Diesel additive (for 60 liters Diesel fuel dosage) fill up tank with Diesel fuel and run at least 300 km on highway at 3000-3500 rpm in 4-th gear.
I recommend you Foerch Diesel Reiniger System additive! I use this additive from 3 years ago and is certified on Audi TDI engines!

Hard to start engine

Could be fuel pump, or dirty or fautlty injectors. The gas additives only clean partially, not sure of recommendations here, but most mechanics claim you need to pay them to hook up a high pressure cleaning system to do a thorough job on injectors.

Best bet would be to check fuel pressure with a pressure guage, I used to have on of those, not sure if it would work in today's fuel injected engines.

Engine light P0758 1996 Pontiac Grand Ame 2.3

Hi, the price sounds a bit high if it was me i would as you suggest buy a fuel cleaning aditive make sure you buy the right one ie petrol or diesel then give the car a good run it usually takes a good 3hours of driving time for the fuel additive to work its way through the fuel lines and injectors.
If this solves the problem then use this once a month.
Hope this is some help to you let me know if you need further assistance

Diesel engine swap

It just slots in. The wiring loom will have to be altered to allow fror the addition of glow plugs and ancillaries, but no problem there, a competent mechanic can do that for you. It's a stright swap, (sorry the exhaust manifold may be a little different so you may have to buy a new manifold exhaustreplaement, Not a new manifold.) Just make sur all your gas is out of the tank and lines, change all the filters etc before you fire her up! Happy driving. There should be pleanty of trooper/GMC fronterra (same car, different badge) in the US

Zx2 engine stalls at idle speeds

Your symptoms can be from many things however I have seen this often from stopped up fuel filters in several different cars.
It could also be from very bad gas.
My suggestion is that if the car has high mileage OR you have recently goten gas from an unfamiliar service station, you shoudo change the fuel filter and put some good fuel additive in (after the new filter) to get rid of any water or other contaminates in the gas tank.
I recommend "SeaFoam". It is more expensive that others but has a very good reputation. It really works!

2003 vw jetta wolfsburg bogs on early acceleration

Don't know if it applies to your diesel but most later gas engined vehicles have a 'cold start' valve that supplies additional fuel to the fuel/air mix along with boosting the idle speed until some warming of the engine is sensed.
