Check you FUEL INJECTION HOUSING.....not the individual injector.

The factory housing is probably the OLD style that will crack INTERNALLY. When this happens, it sprays fuel into the neighboring cylinders causing firing problems. The OLD style will have the INJECTORS AT THE HOUSING with tubes running to the engine. The NEW style has wires running from the housing to the INJECTORS AT THE ENGINE.

If you've run into a wall trying to fix you misfire problem, then this is probably the culprit. The crack is not visible as it is INTERNAL. The first guy to work on my 97 Silverado replaced my #6 injector for $300. My new mechanic can get the entire housing with all 8 injectors for about $390. Prior to this, we replaced plugs, wires, Idle arm control, throttle positioning sensor, #6 cylinder and the first guy adjusted the idle with a screw driver which created more problems not to mention he didn't clean the intake while it was off nor did he replace the "reuseable gasket" that was obviously wore flat.

I have 2007 Chevy p.u. I replaced plug ,wire,both caps,it's a 4.3v6 still has misfire cyl.5 what's wrong with it

Did you visually check for spark on that cylinder, engine cranking? A misfire can be caused by just about anything, fuel--spark--compression.
The make is a chevy, what is the model?
Can you feel the misfire? At idle or highway speed, both

My 2002 Chevy Blazer won't start?

If you replaced the injector after the plugsthey may be fuel fouled.Pull the plugs and clean them.(you can sandblast them,or use a method I used to use-shoot a little starting fluid on them and use a lighter to burn off the contamination of too much fuel).I can't believe GM kept using this stupid design so long-I remember nearly new Vortec V6s with this same problem in the '90s.

98 silverado random misfire

Do you know which cylinder ?

On a misfire...check plugs, plug wires, coil packs / distributor coil...and on rare occasions I've seen water from cooling system leak or trickle into a cylinder from a bad head gasket.

BUT

Lets keep it simple and go with the condition of spark plugs.
If they are good then look to plug wires and especially the connections.

Hope this helps...

I had a mechanic check my car and he said it might be the #5 injector that was missing (1998 chevy blazer)

The 98 chevy blazer has a one spider injector that runs to six poppit valves where the fuel is injected into the cylinders. It is possible that the poppit valve may become plugged. Before looking into this more I would verify that the spark plug or wire is not the cause of your cylinder #5 misfire.
