You don't say how many miles or give a service history, but, that said I would check the timing belt and tensioner. When tensioner goes bad is often is reported as a loud knock or tick. Usually most evident at low RPMs. Another low cost try is to use a can of seafoam in the oil now, run it a few miles, then change it for a high detergent, low viscousity oil and drive it a while to see if the lifters clean up. engine tick is very common, generally due to lifters oil passages getting sludged up a little for 2nd gen 3.2l's

Where is the oil drain plug located isuzu rodeo 2000

Hi:
I am assuming your rodeo has the V-6 engine, like the one I used to own. Your drain plug is located on the engine oil pan, along the rear side of the oil pan. this is located in the center of your rodeo, about 3 feet back from the bumper!

Had the engine replaced three weeks ago, and now, there is a minor knocking sound coming form the engine.

Sounds like your Rodeo was taken to the circus. No warranty on that new motor? I need to know where the sound is coming from. Top, bottom, front rear or what. Is it a tapping or hard loud knocking??? Let me know and I will try to help you out. Raz

Knocking Engine

Sorry you did finish you sentence. Grab the fan blade (engine off of course) and see if you can move it back and forth. A lot of play may be a bad and knocking fan clutch. Or a worn out water pump. Move it if you can and see where the play is coming from.

Engine Knock on a 98 Isuzu Rodeo

Most likely it is a rod bearing and motor would have to be dissassembled to diagnose, you might want think about installing a low milege used replacment since it was run 5 quarts low on motor oil.
