I own a honda crv 2000, recently pulled out the fuse for the srs airbags, now replaced but the srs light stays on which means airbags are not functional, i understand i need a computer reset but can I do that or do i neet to take it to honda dealer?????? if a auto electrician does that will he stuff up computer settings (idle speed ect...) and not be able to fix
Ok,
1. ensure ignition off
2 . bridge the 2 pin connector, Put a piece of wire across both terminals
3.switch ignition on
4. SRS lamp should illuminate for 6 seconds
5.disconnect the bridge wire within 4 seconds of the warning lamp extinguishing
6.SRS lamp should illuminate 2 times, Codes erased
7.switch ignition off
8 Wait 10 seconds. switch ignition on and check SRS warning lamp operation.
hope this helps

hey, thanx for the reply, found the data connector, no probs. what does i do now.
You can erase faults from the ecu without a tester, but you need to find the data connector, its usualy a yellow connector. It will be either a 2 pin or a 3/5 pin . It can be in 1 of 3 locations. Under the dash, under the center console to the front on the drivers side or under the passenger side of the dash.
Once you find it , let me know and i will tell you how to clear the codes and lamp.
Or take it to the local Honda dealer, he will plug in the tester and rest it, which is a lot quicker. He will not mess up the rest of the settings of the ECU.
Hope this helps
