Instability of inside temperature

Hello,
My name is Doru, and i want to get some help regarding a problem with climatic control of temperature at my BMW e46 , 1.9 l .
The problem it is: I observed how works the clima control and I see a big diference between tehe temperature from inside and the temperature selected by my at control panel. For example: I select 24.5 C at control panel , after few minutes the clima sistem start to deliver hot air , every thing ok , but after the inside temperature is rising at selected temperature , my sistem don't try to keep constant the selected temperature . If I rise the selected temperature at 28 C , the sistem starts to deliver again hot air.
I supose to be a problem with a sensor for inside temperature ( I read about one sensor from control panel, but I don't now how to reach this sensor )
Thanks!

SOURCE: E46 Climate control blows hot air regardless of temp setting

your water controll valve located at the right side of the engine near the extreme rear end of the inlet manifold may not be working properly hence the hot air .

Sounds like you're running rich.

First, change the air filter, and check that the air intake isn't blocked somewhere.

If that doesn't sort it out, it's the carb. They have an automatic choke (cold start), which could be sticking on and causing problems.

One thing it isn't is the timing belt (sorry Satanscash) as this engine doesn't have one... and even if it did, failure of the belt results in a very dead engine!

Does the inside ambient sensor control the setting on the climate control modual

No. . The temperature you set controls the module. When the inside sensor sees that temperature the fan speed slows and the blend door responds to that temperature.

What is an ICP - RCC - Speedometer fuse for on a 1997 ford taurus dohc ICP - RCC?

Hey Brian ,

RCC - Remote Climate Control Module
Integrated Control Panel-Electronic Automatic Temperature Control
Control Assembly The Taurus, Sable vehicles group together the following systems into a single integrated control panel:
  • AM/FM stereo radio
  • clock
  • rear window defroster switch
  • electronic automatic temperature control (EATC)
  • full-logic cassette tape player
  • compact disc player control (optional)
The remote climate control module is mounted to the A/C evaporator housing behind the integrated control panel. The integrated control panel is connected to the remote climate control module with a dedicated two-wire communication link. The integrated control panel EATC features:
  • a vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) for displaying set temperature, ambient temperature, function and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
  • electro-luminescent backlighting for all buttons and graphics.
  • function override buttons.
  • temperature control and blower speed rocker switches.

First thing that started the outside temperature reading would flicker and finally settled to the steady reading. Then we started getting cold air on the passenger side and warm air on the driver side. ...

That is two separate problems. The "Flickering" of the outside temperature thermometer might be normal to some extent. Sometimes, the voltage from the sensor is at a point where it could be say, 31 degrees F or 32 degrees F. The display may flicker back and forth between 31 and 32 very rapidly until the voltage changes just enough to go make it go solid one way or the other. It probably does this all the time, but you didn't notice until you were paying attention to the temperature problems inside the car. (One actually has absolutely nothing to do with the other.)

The cracking and popping noises you are hearing from the temperature door and the difference between the temperature on the driver's side and the passenger side are the same problem. Apparently, you have dual zone climate control. This is usually caused by one of the temperature doors sticking and either stripping the gears inside the door control actuator or breaking the door itself. If you have both sides set at "HOT", the side that is cold is your problem-child. This will usually also set a fault code in your climate control module and may make your climate control display flash. (but it doesn't always flash when there is a code present)

You might want to check to see if your heater core, which is located under the dash and inside the car, is not leaking. Look to see if you have a wet rug on the passenger side. If it is not leaking then try turning you vent knob to outside air and not recirculating.
