The car vibrates when it idles. It vibrates so

The car vibrates when it idles. It vibrates so much that the front grill on the car and the engine shake. The steering wheel vibrates too. If I shift it into neutral then it stops. The dealership says that it is just a "characteristic" of that car and that it is an exhaust problem but they don't have a solution to fix it. Anyone else experience this problem and if so what have you done?

Sounds like it has a bad motor mount, once the rubber wears out, it is metal to metal and there is nothing to coushin the vibrations from the engine.

Vibration at 1500 rpm

Hi Anthony, I'm glad to help!

Anthony, I'm only giving you some guidelines here because I have no idea if your actually driving down the road or sitting at an idle when this vibration occurs. Most vibration from the engine sitting at an idle are usually from pulleys on the front of the engine being loose or out of line with the others or even bent and the vibration gets worse at higher RPMs. Here's what you need to do. CAUTION: WITH THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING!!! Try to move each pulley to see if one of the pulleys is loose, if you find one loose then replace that part and it should go back to normal unless you have another problem as well. Then of-course you need to check for other things that could be causing the issue. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Anthony.

Honda civic 1.6A vibrating problem. Manufacture year 2008. Have driven for just 2 years & 1 mth, clocked only 27,300 km to-date

does it vibrate at highway speeds or sitting still at idle? the highway speed vibration could be tires out of balance. the idle speed vibration could be weak engine mount or idle speed too low.

I have a vibration or shimmy in the front end.

If the wires were not pulled carefully, they may be damaged. The plugs were gapped and kept clean while installing? (No grime etc.) Could the wires get switched so the wrong wire is on the wrong plug? If the same problem got worse, you may be right about engine vibration.

Car vibrates at idle.

you may have a pulley out of balance. ie harmonic balancer, steering pump, alternator. try increasing idle, set it at 850-900.
