2000 BMW 323 STARTER HAS NO RESPONDENCE WHEN KEYturn to start

If the engine doesn't turn over it may be your battery at fault ..

or .. an earthing problem. check the negative - the black cable - on the battery for cleanliness and tightness. Also check where it attaches to the engine block.

A 'bad earth' can cause non starting problems, and the engine doesn't spin over.

Neutral lockout switch or ignition switch if the car is an automatic. Switch on the clutch if it is a stick. If auto try starting it in neutral.

That clicking sound is the starter solenoid, starter might be jam or gone bad, while some one hold key to start, hit starter if jam will start, if it don't starter will have to be replace.

if the engine light is on someone has stolen your fan belt or mybe it broke and needs replaced need to watch out people will take things that dont belong to them.broken belt.adrian,,,,,

You have a fault with the starter motor.That can drain the battery having a short in the motor.Changing the starter motor will solve your problem.

Verify the fuel relay

If this is an automatic then the gearbox sounds as though it has a fault, check fuses in glovebox i think theres two in there for the gearbox. if they are ok you need to have a diagnostic check im afraiid

I would have the battery tested. When they get cold they get weak. Next I would look at the wires on the starter to see if their loose.

i think its your read coil. have you treid another key
your car is not getting the codes from the key.
