When I attempt to unlock or lock the door using the remote key it does not work. I tried to syncronize the remote key but it only locked the doors but did not unlock. I have to use the key manually. I changed the batteries too.

I think that's the alarm system as well.the most important thing is the alarm system is still working?step out yr car try to use remote key to lock n unlocked,if that's working.i don't worry at all.lock n unlock are alarm system reset itself.should be normal, battery is super low or dead .good luck for u
ck for a fuse in the under the hood fuse box that says bsm may be blown.
Also try this.....
To reset the security system remove the negative battery cable for 30 minutes, then reconnect the cable. Next, lock and unlock the doors using the remote. This will reset the alarm system and the engine will start and fobs reset.
Here are some factory notes....FYI
Anti-Theft Systems
PROGRAMMING
NOTE: If a new Smart Entrance Control Module (SECU) is installed, a new identity code must be entered and all remote controllers must be programmed. If identity code cannot be entered, repair multi-remote system. See appropriate MULTI-REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEMS article.
PROGRAMMING > PROGRAMING NEW ID CODE
NOTE: This procedure will erase all previous identity codes and render all previously programmed remote controllers inoperative (until reprogrammed). All remote controllers to be used with system must be programmed at the same time. A maximum of 4 remote controllers can be programmed. Any attempt to program more than 4 controllers will be ignored. If same identity code is entered more than once, entry is ignored even though hazard warning lights will still flash twice.
1. Close and lock all doors. Erase original identity code(s) by inserting and completely removing key from ignition switch more than 6 times within 10 seconds. Hazard warning lights should flash twice. Turn ignition switch to ACC position.
2. Push any button on new remote controller once. Hazard warning lights should flash twice, indicating identity code has been entered. If identity code cannot be entered, repair multi-remote system. See appropriate MULTI-REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEMS article.
3. For each additional remote controller to be programmed, manually release door lock and lock again by using door panel switch and repeat step 2. If no additional remote controllers are to be used, exit programming mode by unlocking and opening driver's door.

This is how to reset the alarm
Roll up all windows exit the car lock all doors with the remote, then wait ten minutes, unlock the door using the key, that will reset the alarm.
without remote I found this, have no idea if it will work, but worth a try!!
With the drivers window down, and the doors closed. and locked connect the battery and lock and unlock the tailgate with the key, you need to unlock it twice to unlock the doors and turn off the alarm. If the locks are working like thier supposed to the drivers door will be unlocked and opening it won't set off the alarm. the truck should be back to normal. If not disconnect the battery again. Drivers window down. Put the key in the switch and turn the key on to the run position. With all the doors closed connect the battery. connect it good and don't bounce it around. If the battery casbles aren't clean clean them good so it'll connect good. If it still is alarming then the doors switches are likly. Or the door locking motors. You should be able to lock all the doors ( including the hatch) by hand and get the system to reset. Try it all again using a different door to double unlock as a lock switch might be sticking. If the system can't verify that all the doors are closed and locked it won't reset. If you connect the battery wihg the key turned on the system thinks it's already running and appeares to be in the unset mode.
If the valet key is not programmed to the Immobilzer system, it should start the car, but it will shut off. This is only if the car has an Immobilizer system. If your locksmith unlocked the car without the door key, then use the key to unlock and disarm the alarm in the door. If you triggered the alarm, the starter will be disabled till a unlock signal from a remote or the door is actually unlocked with a key. If that cannot be done, your only solution right now is to tow it to the dealership and have them make a master key and check the door locks for proper lock/unlock commands so the alarm will arm and disarm correctly.
Disconnect the battery from your car (negative cable only) overnight. Make sure you have your radio reset code before doing so.
Then reconnect after 10 hours, and make sure you have remote handy as alarm may go off. Then if that doesnt fix it, go to driver door, then insert master key, pull up on handle first all the way and hold it. Then turn the key slowly all the way so the doors unlock and continue turning the key. This will reset the central locking system as yours may have gotton stuck. then remove key let go of handle, open door and try to lock and unlock doors from switch inside car.
Then try remote. It should work, this is what the dealer will do and charge you about $350...if it doesnt work order a new remote b/c yours may have become damaged by liquid or dropping?
