Why is there a loss of power on a 1993 mercury villager after engine gets warm

Very old vehicle, and highly likely it needs a new fuel filter and major tune-up (including all new spark plug wires, spark plugs, cap, rotor, and ignition coil).
Verify proper fuel pressure at the fuel rail, and service fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator as necessary. If you have been using ethanol blend fuel in the vehicle over the past few years, I recommend removing ALL FUEL from the vehicle and replacing it with new. Please read my "Tip" on Fixya regarding the problems with ethanol blend fuels in older vehicles (such as yours).

When warm runs rough sets knock sensor code will hardly idle turn front cat cherry red car sat for a year put new gas in it when cold runs great

If the cat is cherry red as you say it is I would check the firing order or timing they may have crossed plug wires this will cause the exhaust manifolds to get red hot and glow let me know if this heled you and good luck.It definitely sound to be timing related or crossed wires.

Just aquired A Ford Mercury Villager 1998 any suggestions as to stores for spares ie servicing Brake Pads, etc

On the villagers the front motor mount alot of the time is bad on these vehicles.Change the oil every 3,000 miles. Also check the air cleaner and the battery terminals and make sure they are clean if not clean them with like some 100 -150 grit sandpaper on the battery cables the positive and negative wires and also clean the battery post where the cables hook up to.

No start

It sounds like you need to clean both battery cable connections on the battery and make sure they are not spread. You may have to cut off steel clamps and replace with lead kit. Also, clean the 2 smaller wires on the poitive post of the battery.

How to change a headlight bulb on my 95 villager

1.- Carefully unplug the wires connected to the bulb located inside the headlamp, be sure to glently press the far side of the plug (where the wires come out) there's a rectangular shaped lock and pull the plug.
2.- Carefully turn the donut ring that holds the bulb in its position by turning it about 1/4 turn counter clockwise and pull it out.
3.- Pull the bulb out gently (never touch the glass) just the plastic base.
4.- Place the new bulb inside and be sure it is in the same position as the old one.
5.- repeat step 2 and 1 backwards.
There should be no problem

Headlights don't work

Try replacing the bulbs in the sealed beam. Bulb #9007, do both. Lift lid, disconnect electrical wires, unlock o ring, pull out bulb. Replace bulb and reverse the order
