My chevy blazer has a pinging until it warms up. I've checked the pulling bushing and changed the oil 2000 miles ago... it's clean and looks good. what could be the problem?

If the thermostat is not working the engine will not warm up. So the temp gauge should show cold after running the engine for 10 or 15 min. If the engine is warming up but the heater hoses are not warm, you could have air in the cooling system.
****** slipping? check trany fluid..? Trany filter pluged? You need to change trany filter and fluid and flush it out.. if you didnt wreck the trany yet..
Sounds like a likely possibility, the reverse method definetly did the trick in loosening the brake, but it may still be slightly applied, put it in a warm place when you can, or have a shop look at it indoors, it may need to be re-adjusted, or even just warmed up until the cable frees up again
You may have vapour lock in your heater lines. Start engine, put heat lever on high, disconnect one of the lines on your heater core, the one on the flow out side, & see if you have any air coming out. Once antifreese comes out stick line back on & retighten clamp. Make sure your cooling system is topped off. Also your water pump may not be functionihg to it's maximum. Take rad cap off cold & view flow rate. If inadequate you may have to replace the water pump. Good luck!
Check the oil if you haven't already. If that makes no difference, change the tranny oil and filter. It can make a world of difference. Another thing it could be is your fuel filter. The engine is starving for gas, and can't shift properly.
