2001 Jeep GC Laredo - Interior Lights stay on while driving

My problems are as follows, the interior light does not come on when I open the drivers door. When I open the other doors it does come on. THe interior light also stays on when the jeep is running. The power window switches on all doors don't work, the power lock switch on the drivers door does not work but works on the passenger door and the key fob. The theft light does not flash anymore and the panic button doesn't set the panic alarm off either. Also the overhead information center with the temp and gas mileage just shows dashes instead of numbers for everything. All connections on my drivers door were connected but not sure what else to look for. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a fuse issue. check your panel for popped accessory fuse.

the overhead light issue may be the door close switch

1996 jeep grand cherokee no automatic interior lights

1. If you have the light switch in the wrong mode the lights will not operate when you open the door.

2. If the interior lights do not operate at all (ie you cannot switch them on and off manually)then you need to check the fuse for the interior lights.

3. When set to the correct mode, the interior lights will operate from a door operated switch so if the switch has failed the lights will either stay on or not operate at all when you open and close the door. Eventually these door switches fail with repeated use and need to be replaced. (Consider how many times the small door switch has been operated since 1996).

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo interior light stays on

Make sure you dont have the dash light brighter switch all the way up this will also turn on the interior light. Other than that open and close all doors if still on it has to be a bad door switch.

Interior lights stay on and all power windows inop

I had the same problem.....there is a rubber boot that covers the wires going from your door to the body of the car.... the heavier gage wires eventually crack from the opening and closing of the door....you need to cut the rubber and get to the wires inside and splice them back together....the first time i had this problem my windows did not work...then a few months later my interior lights would not go out....different wire this time ...easy fix....
