Bought a 1995 golf but the sensor of the water bottle is missing can any look and tell me were the wire comes from or goes cause for the life of me i cant find it anywere unless it has been removed, just once you stop the car the water runs out was thinking ats why if not would anyone one no why else it would be doin at if its not needed, cheers

ecu is bad did you try to jump start the car or had any dead battery lately?

MAF sensor is located between air filter & air intake on engine, its in a plastic housing in the middle of the rubber hoses. BE CAREFUL THIS IS A DELICATE & EXPENSIVE COMPONENT.
MAP sensor is located on hose outlet from intercooler on the offside of the engine near the wing. AGAIN,, BE CAREFUL, DELICATE COMPONENT

The thermostat will show what the guage shows. the seal on the coolent bottle can be checked for tightness. so it could be a faulty sensor?

No good news on this one I think
Your whining sound problem is the Layshaft bearings in the gearbox are
badly worn. It also seems that the baulk rings are damaged on 5th gear.
