I live in Las Vegas. When it's summer over 110 degree and gas level is lower than half, my 2000 Camry Solara would stall. The most obvious time is when I pull into the garage slightly uphill. It would stall.
I have tried changing the fuel cap. Someone recommended changing the fuel filter. Would that help? Or there are other problems?

Your check oil light correct? if oil level is full then you have a bad oil level sensor

The fuel filter is the LAST thing you need to look at. I would be first looking at the age of the spark plugs. Get the car to somebody who can scan it. If the scan result is a P-0301/2/3/4/5/6, that would indicate bad plugs.

It sound like your idle air control valve is sticking and will need to be replace.

No. My check engine light was not on.
It's not summer yet here in Las Vegas. My car is doing fine at this time. Do you have a recommeded place for me to take the car to in Summer when this happens?
I would try this next:
When the tank level gets down to less than 1/2, unscrew the fuel cap until it is loose. This will illuminate the check engine light. Disregard the light being on. Drive the car, and try to duplicate the condition. If the problem does not reappear, the cap, or the tank venting system is compromised.
I just had an identical issue in my service department.
Try it, and get back to me.
Changing the fuel filter will not improve your condition.
