How do I replace just the glass mirror on a 1996 Honda Accord
The passenger side mirror glass is cracked on my 1996 Honda Accord. I bought a replacement mirror, but have no instructions. How do I remove the old broken glass and install the new glass mirror?

I have some good news! I had the same problem with a '90 Honda, and found I could go to e-bay and type in door glass and found a stick-on glass that can be mounted on your broken glass! I bought it and it works!
to replace JUST the mirror glass, goto www.burcoinc.com On the left click on 'redi cut'. Under "redi cut" click on 'Installation'. At the right, I believe you mirror type is 'Snap Fit/ Drop Fit'.
This shows HOW to replace the mirror, to GET the mirror you will have to check with your local glass shop or dealership. (I don't think Burco will sell to you directly) Just make sure it is AUTO mirror, See FMVSS-111 on Burco's web site.
If you need to replace the entire mirror head assembly...it is held on with 3 bolts located under the door panel. HTH
You need to remove the internal door panel, then you can see the screw to remove the side mirror. Sometime you need to remove the glass before you can reach the screw.
If you go to a parts house, they can order you a mirror face for around 10 to 15 dollars. It simply sticks to the mirror that is broken with adhesive. It is very permanent and if the mirror is still working and in tact mostly (only broken glass part) it should fix you right up. Look at autozone, oreillys, or even JC Whitney or Pep Boys for example. Been there Done that! :-)Hope that helps.. Thanks!
hi from uk answer is yes the mirror glass can be bought on its own at least here in the uk HALFORDS do a selection of these for various models also a mirror glass that simply sticks to the cracked glass full surface by a backing of double sided glued cushion pad so assume your location will have these at motor supermart ? if not then you can do as i have done in past ? make a card template of mirror then cut or have cut ? your own mirror then double sided tape will do the same job?
