You will have to jack up the car and connect jumper cables to the battery lead at the starter (+) and a good ground (-) to power up the system. The doors will unlock when you do this. I have run into this quite a few times.

2001 bmw x5 with dead battery and no way of getting inside to open any of the doors

Try this - I looked but the first video looked like you were expected to crawl under your car and clip a jumper + lead to the starter and the negative to anywhere on the body

Basically passenger door - insert key - pull up on handle and then start turning the key to unlock and it will mechanically do just that so you can enter the car via that door

Key problem, I don't have a spare key and the key is not opening the door. The opening button on the key is very dead, please help me

First, the key"fob" has a battery inside. Any parts store should be able to help you replace it. Second, you should be able to insert the key into the door lock to manually unlock door. If car's battery is dead, most doors will let you insert the key and turn as far as it goes, Then operate the door handle and turn the key a bit more to unlock it.

Why won't my doors unlock. Haven't used her in over a month, now she won't unlock with key or remote!!!

Might have dead battery. Most cars have emergency unlock procedure whereby you turn key (sometimes only in passenger door) as far as normal, then try to lift door handle and turn key further for manual unlock.

Battery is DEAD on 2003 Ford Escape! Door key (using an actual key) unlock is also motorized, which needs battery juice. I can't get into this car! I thought about putting jumper cables on the sta

Open the door manually with the key!

Many Ford Escapes have power door locks as standard equipment. This system consists of a lock switch, lock actuator and wiring harness. When you depress the lock switch, it sends an electronic signal through the harness to the actuator. The actuator moves an internal piston that either pulls the actuator hook down or pushes it up. The actuator hook connects to the lock rod, which either locks or unlocks the door, depending on which way you push the lock button. While this system won't work with a dead battery, the mechanical lock system remains unaffected by electrical power loss.

Insert the door lock key into the driver's door lock.
Turn the key counterclockwise one quarter turn.
Pull the door handle up until the Escape's door opens. Once the driver door is open, simply open the remaining doors by pulling the interior door handles until the doors open.

Cannot open doors to 1994 bmw 740 il with key. battery is dead and located under rear seat. key will open up trunk.

hi jim, try lifting up on the driver's outside door handle slowly while turning the key in the unlock position. The lock cylinder design has a cam on it that usually will catch while lifting the handle. if you have no luck on the driver's side, try the same thing on the passenger's side. be patient, it make take a few tries before the door unlocks.

Locked out

Connect jumper cables to the starter connection which should be visible under the car, hot to the bolted battery cable connection, negative to any ground. Connect the other end to a battery after you have crawled out from under the car.  Also consider; my BMW had the battery in the trunk, which should open with a key.

Lock out bmw520i 1990

There is a procedure to open the doors in a lock out. You must pull up on the driver's door handle then insert the key and turn it counterclockwise while at the same time pulling the key as if you were trying to pull it out. You will be met with a lot of resistance but the lock will open provided your actuator is not froze. This is a tricky procedure and will no doubt take several practices to be able to pull it off. Good luck!
