Whenever you turn steering to left or right traction service light comes on and traction control under hood is heard trying to operate. This happens mostly on dry pavement. Had 100,000 mile service done, put new brakes on, changed right front hub, checked tire pressure, but problem persists. Mechanics can't find anything wrong even with the computer hookup. Does ABS or speed sensor need replacing? Any ideas?
What mechanic's did you take it to ? What computer did they hook up ? If there were no DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes to point to a problem don't replace anything .
The Traction Off indicator is controlled by the instrument cluster via serial data messages from the EBCM. When the body control module sees the traction control switch input grounded through the momentary traction control switch, it sends a serial data message to the EBCM that tells the EBCM that the traction control switch has been pressed. The EBCM then disables traction control and sends a serial data message to the instrument cluster to turn the Traction Off indicator ON. Each time the ignition is cycled from OFF to ON, the traction control system is enabled.
The following conditions will cause the Traction Off indicator to illuminate:
• The EBCM has disabled the TCS due to a DTC.
• The driver manually disabling the TCS via the traction control switch.
• The instrument cluster bulb check. When the ignition switch is turned to ON, the Traction Off indicator will turn on for approximately 3 seconds and then turn OFF.
Maybe there diagnostic tool can't pull codes from the module that has the code . Not all aftermarket scan tools can check DTC'S in all the vehicle modules . Try the Dealer !
It's usually the sensor inside the wheel hub or the wiring harness to the brake controller. The service traction light will set a trouble code. If your mechanic is stumped, authorize him to call a GM tech support line. The call is $50, but the GM tech support can help him figure out what's wrong.

i have a 2002 chevrolet impala and the same thing happened to me. abs light came on as well as my traction controll light. when i would step on the gas or brakes my car sounded like the brake pads were skiping against my rotors. i had my hub sensor replaced 5 times. the machanic kept telling me it was the part that need to be replaced.they hooked it up to have a dianostic done and the computer keep telling them to replace the hub sensor. so finally we brought my car to an electric auto shop. they found it was a loose wire that was turning my brakes on and off.(haywire)they fix my car in 30mins.

it will be right tront hub assembly pplug bad or or hub itself

You'll need to have the codes read from the computer. You will have a code that indicates one of the front wheel sensors is bad. This could be the case, but they are very expensive as they are built into the wheel bearing assemblies. It is more likely that the wiring harness between the frame and the part of the front spindle that holds the harness, has broken internally. It is a very common problem and can be repaired with a new wiring harness section or by tracking down the fault and repairing it.

abs sensor is built into hub[bearing]common problem when changing them and or brakes r that the sensor connection is not properly reconnected or wire got damaged recheck the sensor wiring and that connector is connected to clip by strut clip is part of system

CHECK WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CONNECTION.IF ALL IS GOOD.PROBLEM COULD BE FAULTY WHEEL SPEED SENSOR.
